A couple of takes of the instrumental turned up on one of the Reel-to-Reel tapes from Don Davis that carolinasoul auctioned earlier in the year or maybe last year. They were slightly different to each other, but both recorded at a much faster tempo. It's possible the tape was playing too fast, but unlikely that carolinasoul got that wrong. Don't know if it went to anyone we could ask?

I've had a recomendation to use simple luke warm water with mild detergent, and also to use Lighter Fluid ! Guess the last one is one to avoid.

Does anyone have experience in the cleaning of Acetates. Specifically cleaning out the milky film that gunges up the lacquer. I've looked online and there are a few methods suggested, but I'm trying to find someone who has first hand experience in cleaning, or having used a service to clean any discs . . . Successfully. I actually prefer the Accents to Jimmy. I bet first copies of that (Spring Song) are quite rare.

As Ady said, in this case this disc was pressed at the same plant that privately ran off more copies. I'd guess the initial grabbers on the night didn't know this, so they may be left with egg on their faces.

Also address at bottom has GEMINI MUSIC CO. on the boot, where the orig has GEMINI MUSIC Co. It was also booted in Vinyl, sort of stands out as the vinyl is Yellow.

I usually rate a hairline cracked record at a about quarter of the value, but if a record is in vogue, or quite rare, that gap may shrink to almost its full value. It's all down to everyone's personal opinion though. Places like Record Collector and Goldmine may offer a guide.
