Had a couple of oustanding orders from the 6th,7th & 8th of January. Waited patiently until last Wednesday when I gave them a call, spoke with Stella and she confirmed everything would be shipped by Friday. On Thursday I had a call from John himself explaining that one record was out of stock and another had an issue with the label. He offered me a full refund or a further discount if I still wanted it.... bearing in mind that I don't know him let alone have never spoken to him, he found the time to call. Bottom line is, as frustrating as the wait can be they're obviously snowed under. Personally I can't fault him even if others don't share that view.

Another one from them. For all those wicked men who've danced on the ballroom floor.

Gospel Tracks on the up ...
I'll hold my hands up and admit that I don't have the depth of knowledge that most folks have on here. But these are are few I've heard over the past few years. All album only tracks that have appeared on a few playlists too.

Sleepers is also on my 'to watch' list. Just started to watch 'Black Tulip' another one of Walters, only a couple of episodes in but I can recommend it.

We’ve watched a lot of the ‘Walter presents’ stuff and I haven’t watched a bad one yet.

Binged it yesterday. One of those series were I was disappointed when it ended. Hope there’s more to come.

I placed an order yesterday for a few more items and received notification at lunchtime today saying items shipped. I did read somewhere that orders were being processed chronologically which seems strange if you placed your order before me.

Just bought an LP of his website, and as Chalky said above, the discount was applied straight away.

Desert Island Discs - John Cooper Clarke
Had a re-listen to this on my way to work this morning. Every word he spoke had me smiling and laughing. If you've got a spare 40 minutes, it's well worth a listen. His 1st choice is sublime and his luxury item comes as no surprise. Highly recommended https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000701x

Halfway through this and it's very good. If you're interested in podcasts I can highly recommend - Assume Nothing 'The Handler' on BBC sounds. Memoirs of a Special Branch officer during the troubles and how he handled IRA 'touts'

45 Revolutions Rochdale 22/11/2024
Forget all that usual hype about great venue, best dance floor and cheap bar prices, put this place on your 'must visit' list. The music is top drawer. Residents Tony & Alan hold it together with a great selection of underplayed 'oldies' and the guest DJ's take it to another level. John Hillel and Ady Rushmore both played absolute blinding sets. Worth the £3 entrance just to hear John spin The Primers - 'how does it grab you' Hale. Along with a whole bunch of rarities, The Blue Jays, Eddie Whitehead, Tamala Lewis and many more. Next one is Friday December 27th. A guaranteed not to be missed night!!!

Just started to re watch "Silicon Valley" it's on HBO via one of those 'dodgy' thingymajigs. It's a comedy set around a tech start up company. If you like nerdy tech stuff along with laddish behaviour you'll love it

Members Introductions - Welcome to Soul Source
Thought I'd better introduce myself seeing as it's 2 years since I've been on here now. I was on here regularly early 2000's under the username Stamford but couldn't access my old account Got into soul like a lot of others via youth clubs, mod revival & the scooter scene. Dipped in an out over the years and sold up in 2008. Started collecting again 3 years ago, definitely wrong time to start if you want to buy back what you once had, but there's plenty I don't know at an affordable price so no complaints. Plenty of old names on here from before and I'm enjoying browsing all the 'new to me' topics. If you're ever in the area I'd recommend a visit to 45 revolutions at Sudden social club, Rochdale. Billed as rare & underplayed it definitely ticks a box for me. Thanks...Paul Adams
