  1. Nice one Kitch. Just signed up for a regular listing. You may see me collecting again soon ?
  2. I met him in London. Boy, what a privilege. One of The Revels (midnight stroll) too. I think he did stuff for Lee Andrews as well. He played me songs recorded in the late 50's off his laptop that had never been released. They were hits. Unbelievable. He told me his RCA Tymes stuff, the rhythm was recorded in New York, but strings and horns done in Philly, arranged by Richard Rome. It is he singing lead on Trustmaker. He was trying to get the group to sing like he wanted and he showed them, recorded it and he kept it on the track! He was the most complementary person, it was not always about him.
  3. Sad, sad news R.I.P Billy a true Legend. We even met him a couple of times once in Blackpool and once in Philly on the Soultrip to New Jersey. Gone but not forgotten John
  4. Sad news indeed. His delivery of 'Me and Mrs Jones' is so beautiful. rip
  5. So sad to hear about the passing away of Biff, I hadnt seen him for a while but will never forget the top nites at the Birchfield (Widnes) Club were he entertained us for many years by playing top tunes and always had a smile on his face. So long my soul mate RIP, you will be sadly missed by all.

  10. Biff was very good company, a gentleman, a pillar of the soul community. John will be missed by all those who knew him, my sincere condolences to the family
  11. It will be very sad news, if correct
  12. And sadly Billy Jackson, who co wrote and produced some of his material is very ill too (the lead vocal on 'You little trustmaker' by The Tymes and member of The Revels). I guess this domain of our lives is seeing more and more of this. When I went over to Philly in 2003 with a couple of SoulfulDetroit.com chums, we were driving down a street with Bobby Eli and Weldon McDougall and they spotted Lee walking. We pulled over and met him. I never really knew about him until that moment. My two colleagues did, but I was no specialist then or now. 'Nevertheless', I know who he is now.
  13. Great Re-issue ! Following strongly in the footsteps of Wilson Williams - really looking to future releases from this quality label !!!
