  4. Ian's already compiled Volume 2 which will be released the next time we host the Olympic Games in this country.
  5. Will Banks on 'Soul prescription' just described this as something like "The most tenuous excuse for an album I've ever seen", but he was laughing when he said it, and he did play two tracks and admit that it was a pretty good collection.
  6. Some footage i've just found on youtube from Nolan Porter and Stone Foundation taken from last weekends gigs, how good is this the 100 club was such a special night. Nolan's in fine voice!
  7. Sad news. Robert was talented and I loved his voice, he was underrated. Paul
  8. So Sad, I had the privilge of seeing Lou at the Cluny in Byker. Newcastle several years ago, One of the best artists I have ever seen. His act was professional, sxciting and when he came into the crowd to sing, what can I say, I shook Lou Prides hand!! True Talent, so much more than one record, thank you Lou

  12. Ian Am thinking about buying the CD but the Amazon reviews of the CD that all refer to Jazz FM are confusing the hell out of me - maybe i am missing something but why-are there reviews from 2001 & 2002 going on about obviously different CD's? Mick Quote....... Most Helpful Customer Reviews 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Can Jazz FM do any wrong? 24 July 2001 By xxxx Format:Audio CD Yet another fabulous album from Jazz FM. They just keep churning out fabulous compilations that are an asset to anyone's music collection. Being an avid follower of the Hed Khandi series I am always intrigued by alternative Jazz FM releases and they never disappoint. Inspired is no exception! The collection of songs on this album are truly wonderful and equally diverse. Whether you're into the funky sounds of the magnificent diva Beverley Knight, the gospel grooves of The Sounds of Blackness, or the remarkably mellow sound of Rahsaan Patterson, you'll definitely find what you like on this collection. If you're into mellow, funky jazz then this will prove to be a great addition to your collection. It'll also prove superb value for money as this album will, no doubt, prove to be timeless. Perfect for summer evenings, lazy days on the beach, pre-party and anytime you want an eargasm experience! Comment |Â Was this review helpful to you? Dennis Taylor with his "Enough is Enough" or a remix with Beverley Knight of the song "Flavour of the old school" absolutely beautiful. If you want to find new artists on the scene then this compilation is for you. Ecstasy for your ears. Comment |Â Was this review helpful to you? Yes No 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful Chill Out with pure soul 26 Jan 2002 By Xxxx Format:Audio CD I dismissed Jazz Fms record label ages ago as just being double collections of dull airy elevator music from the dreary Jazz Fm daytime playlist, and was only bowled over by the fresher uptempoes of the Hed Kandi division . However the Jazz Fm record label did bring out two belters in Spirit of the street 1 and 2 as they crossed over away from the Smooth Jazz genre to a more left field groove- inner city cool, and it's in the inner city cool vein that Inspired comes in on a wind down scale. The standard on inspired is high from mid-tempo old school styles to soul belters all with a soulful aura . This is a modern transatlantic soul selection at it's best with heavy grooves.Don't worry if your not familiar with the names. Will Downing, Angie Stone, Chico Debarge and Latimore are all renowned luminaries in there field but it's the more obscure names that offer the gems. This is chill out with soul, for those how prefer the more soulful side of current sounds it's a Must!
  13. "dont bring sh#te on here from elsewhere" suppose that extendeds to those that refer to articles in newspapers,tv,radio, book, magazines etc aswell as me? and if we didnt refer to articles from other sources you wouldnt have much of a site now would you? or topics for debate or am i just being singled out for special treatment?,i did explain -the person goes on this site.so "do me a favour" and try and use less inflamertary exspletives its not very becoming of a person in your esteemed position-i was defending kids against a bully and bringin attention to the fact.now back to the subject.the film!
  14. not really mate unless your wearing it with spencers and royal brogues, and a 70s feather cut hairstyle as some of these young 1s do
  15. Hello Ian, I heard there's going to be some kind of sporting event in London to promote this album. I think it's called the Olympic Games. Something like that. Paul
  16. The more you look at this the better the attention seems to getting it as right as possible. Butch and Dickie on the music front, dance lessons for extras over how many months, wardrobe dpt that are out scanning for the right gear and written / directed by a top lady on the scene. Can't think of a better pair of hands to carry the project.
  17. Can you please release something that might make my commute from Paddington to Spitalfields (there and back) more bearable during the Olympics? Come to think of it, and after the Olympics. Something on Mirwood maybe?
  18. One for the slow starters Montclairs - Just can't get away Pole jumpers Bobby "blue" bland- Up and down world Non drug takers Mill Evans- use what you got English football fans Van Mccoy = My favourite fantasy
