Similar looking label design to Gordon Keith's 'Look Ahead' on Calumet.
  2. I've e-mailed you regarding this record. Have a white demo for sale.
  3. I believe the L.P pictured is the only album put out on Golden World, am I right?

'Oh Mary'....what a stomper! It is available on a red & white UK Island 45 by the way. Forgot to add, the alt version of 'I Feel So Bad' is available on a red/white lookalike UK boot too as the flip of the standard cut.
  5. The 'Huns' Review'.....what's that all about?

I have that one Tony, came with pic sleeve too. That's obviously the original release, not sure if there's a dodgy 45 of the original take anywhere though.

No album, as I said earlier 'Lonely Lover' is an unissued track.
  8. Thanks Ady, P.M sent. After listening to that Lily Fields track I just had to have a copy! Can't wait for the next R.C.A one too!! Of course I WILL be shelling out for that one.
  9. Where's me free copy you promised me Mr Croadsdell? Stuck in the post I should imagine (Ps. I provided you with scans of 'The New Yorkers' GWP 45 on W.B )
  10. All of those you've listed are worth listing individually Paul. Some great titles there mate. I couldn't tell you exactly what you would get for them though.

Yes, an updated mix I'm afraid. The white label copy I have is the original cut without being messed around with a modern mixing machine. Still collectable on the UK 1986 release though.
  12. Some Jay Boy singles are highly collectable, titles that spring to mind are Ernie & Ed, Sheppards, Jackie Lee, Bob & Earl....oh, and that one by Ray Merrell....but then you knew that anyway didn't you?

    Time clash!!!
  14. Soul-slider replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Just remembered, it's the flip of 'Lonely Lover'.

There is a white label 45 that was available several years ago (of dubious origin!) as the flip to a Marvin Gaye unreleased tune of which the title escapes me at the moment! I have a copy sitting in my box.
  16. Well, this one went for £321 on ebay a couple of years back and it's exactly the same as my copy, bet it's a 'boot' too!!!
  17. My 'boot' is the same as that but without the date stamp. Got it about 15 years ago

Yeah! Backed with 'You Can't keep A Good Man Down'...2 cracking sides. Mine's a demo. My red Carla issue of 'Just Another Girl / There Must Be A Reason' came from 'Soul Bowl' around 1986 for £25.....plays perfectly. I always thought the 'Just Another Girl' side sounded like the 'Three Caps' (Capitols).
  19. Last time I looked it was going for quite a bit. What did it eventually go for?
  20. Soul-slider replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Yes, featuring the 'Soul Brothers' who could be anyone really, so many groups with that name during the era!!! Black or white....it's a 100% Northern Soul stormer!
  21. Soul-slider replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Does anyone have any info on the group? There doesn't seem to be much documented on them, any other releases by them or even anything else on the 'Sorro' label? I remember a brief outline of the 45 on an old 'Goldmine' CD and it was suggested that they were a white outfit? I'm not convinced of that, I think it's maybe just the name that sounds like they could be a 'garage' type group. The flip is quite good too.

That doesn't surprise me Tony, cracking tune!

That's a tough one as I've seen it go for £150 +.... I found a copy about 15 years ago when it was unknown on a car boot in Wisbech for 10p (along with Donald Height 'Rags to Riches To Rags' on US Honey)....played it to a couple of well known collectors in the East Anglia region who really rated it and subsequently traded it for £60 worth. It took me a while to regain a copy and I was offered it twice at around the £150 mark, I couldn't believe my luck when I got a really good copy for £50 off ebay....and I was the only bidder! Got to be at least a ton surely?
  24. That is correct sir. Think it's about £100/150 for the bottom one and another £100 or so for the top one. No matter, I would quite happily hand over £100 for the bottom one no problems, but I don't have to as I have it!
  25. For my two-peneth worth, the top design is the first one I believe and the harder of the two to get. The bottom design was booted as Pete says. Nashville matrix on the bottom one will confirm it's a real copy. I must also add, what a fantastic 45 this is! Flip is excellent too 'You'll See'. Superb Detroit tune that I have been asked to sell on numerous occasions.....but it ain't happening!
