Soul View Magazine
Didn't realise it was still going, last I heard it had finished and Dave put a notice in the 'last' issue....about 5 years ago!!!! Dave knows me, I used to contribute regularly. How do we get a copy? John (South)

My Cuurent In Car Faves
Some nice early tunes there! Intensions is on Bluelight and i've recently purchased a copy...lovely tune! Temptations is played out but not very often, there's also a version by Gene Chandler on Vee Jay. Chaumonts was a great flip of a Wigan era tune 'I need your love' (on the boots anyway!!!).

Hurt - The Victors
The Eddie Holman unreleased tracks were (are?) also available on a vinyl album (Soul Supply GSLP 31) Good luck in your hunt for a copy of the Victors.......I would'nt hold my breath if I were you!

Inspirations Touch Me Etc
Don't think it was booted, and anyway, the one in your picture looks like an original to these eyes. Think you can safely say it's kosher.

Chevrons - Love, I Love You (independence)
Don't have the record yet so can't provide a sound clip, all I know is when Perry played me the MMC copy I thought it sounded really great! To be honest I struggled to find a copy, even on 'Independence'...the last one listed as Northern (from the UK) went for over £100. Just managed to get this copy because the guy (in the States) listed it in the garage/psych section. Can't wait for it to arrive!!

Chevrons - Love, I Love You (independence)
Bought this the other day, hasn't come yet but my mate Perry has it on another label (M M or something like that)....so, not sure if this is the same tune? Hopefully it is.... Great tune with monster potential! Anyone on here know it? It's not listed in any price guide...John Manship...are you there?

Inspirations
Wonder if these are the same group as being discussed on 'Look in your box' (the Breakthrough guys)?

Charles Diamond & Inspirations
????? Is that £1 or 50p?

Charles Diamond & Inspirations
That has definitely given it even more credibility. Btw, the instrumental on the flip has been beefed up with some terrific piano work. Sounds great!

Inspirations
I know the group cut 2 takes and only one got an official release on Benn X, great 45 imo (so is the flip by them)!. I heard the other version on a tape from years back and wasn't aware it ever got a release (officially!).

Is This Golden World / Motown / Pied Piper Related?
I mentioned Pied Piper but forgot that they were actually GWP....forgot about the P!!!

Is This Golden World / Motown / Pied Piper Related?
The group name does'nt sound that good. 'Goodnews'??? But you never know with these 'Jobete published' tunes. It was on auction (not ebay) and had quite a few bidders, probably because of the Jobete connection. 'Where There's A Will...' the only one I know is on Mirwood by Jimmy Conwell??

Is This Golden World / Motown / Pied Piper Related?
GWS (Golden World?) - Jobete publishing..... Unfortunately I never got chance to obtain it but thought it looked interesting. Anyone know it?

Hugh Mccracken - Congress
Yes...and I had one of those tapes!! Hugh has played guitar with B.B King, not much sign of his guitar playing on this tune though....great vocals I reckon!

Hugh Mccracken - Congress
Not surprised it was covered up....needs playing!

Kim Weston 45's Barbara Lynn
Must apologise, 'Don't Let Me Down' is'nt on the Motown Anthology but it's on 'Cellarful Of Motown' (volume 1)... 'You Can Do It' definitely is on the Anthology.
-
I Cant Stop Playing
'Where The Lillies Grow' (Dakar) is a good 45 by the man.
-
Kim Weston 45's Barbara Lynn
The Kim Weston tracks are on the K.W Motown Anthology' CD from last year. Both previously unreleased.

Hugh Mccracken - Congress
Is this fabulous piece of Northern Soul well known? Was it ever played on the scene...anywhere!! First heard it on a tape from years back (Flynny?) and jumped at the chance to buy it when the opportunity arose. Super dooper tune!! "You know I busted my back....just to buy you a pink Cadillac, you took it back cause you wanted black! What I gotta do to satisfy you'....
