  1. "Oh I miss you" - Beres Hammond After this one Martin? Actually a decent copy of this is quite hard to come by - so I'm told. Brotherhood Music Incorporated Limited 001 (1981) The song is also on a few 45s, but they are different recordings of it - not bad, but not quite the same as this one. Sorry, no spare copy either!
  2. Never seen any concrete evidence on this but it certainly does sound like her Although it's reputed to be Gloria Barnes, who 'could' be the same person? By the way - regarding the LP - "Love slipped..." is also on the 'Super pack' double album on Trip (TSX - 3506) this is the one I have, but I don't actually know which LP was out first...? See this link for a bit of info about it: https://www.groovecollector.com/lpp/2/185/1...mpressions.html I don't suppose anyone out there has any more info on this one?

Yep, I remember it first from the Snaith all dayers in the late 70's / early 80's period. "Teacherman" definately wasn't the side played 50p eh... that's 3 or 4 times less than I paid in around 1983
  4. Well, here you go: Hope they're clear enough to read, it's quite a few years since I did it Note, no typewriters or printers in those days
  5. Ha Ha! If I remember correctly, this 'mag' didn't have pages numbered, nor a contents page. So I'm almost sure I numbered them myself - and made up my own contents page for it so that I could find things easier plus actually know what's in the thing! If no one comes up with anything, give me a reminder in a day or so and I'll copy the 'contents' page for it and let you have it. You ought to then be able to sort out the page order from it. I won't have time to do it until at least Sunday though... hope that's OK for you?
  6. Just be aware that "Blackberry Jam" was the 'A' side and some of those may well be mono / stereo promos

T'other side isn't too shabby either
  8. I've a copy of this knocking around - not a spare though, sorry! I've not played it in 'donkeys' years so will have to find it out and see what the sound quality is like Methinks it might be a demo?
  9. Sounds like Melvin Davis to me
  10. I was first aware of this 45 at what I thought to be a late stage! This was before Stafford, during the Rotherham Clifton Hall Days, when my buddy Sean Hampsey put me on to it. I seem to remember Tim Ashibende having multiple copies of it on Volt at the time, priced at somewhere around £1.50, I seem to think it was? I can't be certain but think Sean would have given it a spin or two around that period. I also picked up a UK Stax demo of it for £3 at the same venue. I know it wasn't until quite a lot later that it got more plays.
  11. I have the Delanieur 45 on Teri De, I know it's a later release than the ones you are interested in, but I was also under the impression it was Len Jewel's Daughter. - Maybe I read it in Voices sometime? Anyway, more to the point, I came across the Visitors 45 on Tangerine today "My love is ready and waiting" and lo and behold, it's got Delanieur music in the credits! Maybe you already knew that, but I hadn't noticed it before...

Coincidently, I bought this on an 8 track as that was what was in my dad's car at the time! I'm sure I've still got the tape somewhere, but the player is long gone (Never managed a Bentley either!) Yes it sure was a great compilation in it's day...

Great underrated record this one, if the price was based on pure quality alone - it would be worth lots more
  14. Well, it's funny you should ask - my copy arrived this morning and it's as the sound clip Adam posted above (but without the jump! ) but I still need to find out my Celebration copy to compare them properly. It's definately not the same recording, even though the labels show the same times. You can tell from the one above there's something different, not a great difference but it's there. I can't explain it without being able to compare them 'side by side' so to speak. Maybe someone out there will post up the US recording before I find my copy out
  15. Co-incidently - wasn't a similar tune used on a Syl Johnson song which came out on Twinight? Syl Johnson - That's Why / Everybody Needs Love Not quite Ric Tic I know...
  16. Good scan isn't it? Yes, if I can find the tape I'll post it up Steve.
  17. It's probably just me, but I always preferred "So real" to "Call on me"
  18. (The 7 Sons track "on the run" VTI ) I remember getting that on a tape from Pat Brady in the late 70's, I don't recall it doing much for me at the time though - can't even recall him playing it out anywhere. No idea what it sounds like, still got the tape.... somewhere...
  19. A record a few mates of mine used to rave about back in the early 80's and I've not played it in years Must dig it out sometime! Lovely tune, still sounds the bizz It's the flip side to "I can make it better" on US Bullet and UK Bang. The US Capitol version isn't the same recording though, but it's on the other side of "I'm so into you" So don't go picking that one up by mistake!
  20. According to the label, it's the 'South Suburan Rythm Section' No doubt it's a typo? Yes, I also know it (and have it)
  21. Adam, Try paint remover? - Seriously though, I'm sure you'll have tried the old fingernail scraper trick, it sometimes works. Or maybe a plastic scraper of some sort, not too hard as to dig in the record but may just remove the offending item. Sean, just found out who you meant by "David Williams" Never really did much for me 'Little Britain' - so never connected the names ...especially with your spelling typo
  22. I haven't heard of this one, but at a guess wouldn't the correct title be "I'm just an average girl"?
  23. Cheers Adam, did you make it jump on purpose? Sean, I'm not sure who you mean by 'David Walliams' - who he then? Yes it does sound different, but not much, I'd still have to find out my Celebration 45 out to get a better comparison of the two. Funnny though, both 45s show the same timings and credits etc - I find it odd if they are not the same recordings - unless it was a mistake either with the pressing plant or the typing?
  24. Cheers Adam, it would at least be something to compare the two with I've only got a small sound clip of the Quality 45 but haven't as yet found out my Celebration copy to see if I can tell if there actually is a difference. But the seller does say they are different. Here's the clip if anyone else can tell if it's different or not:
  25. Has anyone come across this release before? I understand it's not the same recording as the one on US Celebration As you can see the Quality release is Canadian, any further info on this welcome
