  1. I wasn't aware of this being on a 45 of any kind until recently, but on checking Mr Rimmers site came across this: Golden Fleece 3257 - Stop And Think / Trammps' Disco Theme - 1974 Can anyone confirm it exists on US single?
  2. Here's a nice 'Melodic' one
  3. Hi Sean, Knowing your tastes, it's difficult to recommend something you don't already know But just in case and for others who may not know them, here's a few I've been re-visiting recently: Ann Peebles - If I can't see you - Hi LP Whatnauts - Instigating (Trouble making fool) - GSF Nina Simone - Touching and caring - VPI LP Betty Wright - Brick grits - RCA LP Arthur Adams - Let me love you tonight - Motown CD Newcomers - The whole world's a picture show - Truth Chuck Jackson - Take off your make up - ABC Jackson Sisters - When your love has gone - Polydor High Inergy - First impressions - Motown Artistics - You left me - Brunswick

I don't have the actual 45...but here's the Italian picture cover Doc mentioned
  5. Can't say as I was aware of the Trammps being on a single? Was it French only or did it come out elsewhere? I don't recall seeing it listed in Garry Pelley's Philly listing in Voices (although there are some gaps in the listing I'm sure he would have mentioned it had he been aware) You learn something new every day don't you...
  6. So many great tracks from him that it would be hard to pick out some for fear of missing others out! But off the top some of my faves along with the above mentioned would have to be "All cried out", Starting over", "Cool me out", "Love me to the max", "You ought to be in pictures", "Love in the rain", "Family", "Sight for sore eyes", "Tear down the walls" There's so many good songs he's been involved with, it ought to be a crime not to play at least one at every soul night!
  7. Wandering through our local Homebase DIY store on Friday... out of the speakers came "Cashing in" from the Voices of East Harlem - mixed in with the usual run of the mill 'muzac' (?) you usually hear in those places, it was no sales ad or anything like that, just out of the blue It reminded me of the very first time I heard it at the Blackpool Mecca all those years back
  8. Agreed, my copy looks as if it's been 'skimmed' across a car park But it plays reasonably well and wasn't all that expensive - but a red one would be nice! Don't know about Kev Johnno's copy though - but he has had some nice things so it wouldn't surprise me
  9. Is this what you want to see? Not mind though, like most who have a copy, it's a white demo! Here's an 'ad' for the 45 also:
  10. I'm sure it's LP only Mark

I'm sure that Sean Hampsey will remember all those years back when we were discussing this very song - and also another good version by that man Tyrone Davis It's the flip side to "Could I forget you" on Dakar btw... Also done by Garland Green on Cotillion Both were done in 1971, but Johnny's was done first around 1967
  12. Which of course reminds me that George McCrae also did this song - not too bad a version either
  13. NOOOO!!!!!
  14. Found it For the 'trainspotters' - In the dead wax is scratched the Delta symbol and 56960X No Monarch records (MR) stamp though, but I've a few others like that so it's nothing to be concerned about I was right about the stamp on the A side (My bad boy's comin' home) - it's only just visible on the black background, maybe it's some sort of 'unofficial' plug side mark? I've no idea what sort of price to put on it these days though? It's not for sale anyway... I wonder who it would have been who I bought it from all those years ago?
  15. That Black one above of Sandy Wynns - is the same design label of my Gloria Jones, bought from someone at the St Ives nighter around 1977 ish who had just come back from the states. It's got a small dark Star printed on the A side if I remember correctly - I'd post a scan up of it if I could remember where its 'filed away'! I don't think it was ever booted on this design either
  16. Len Barry - Hearts are trumps OKaysions - Deal me in ( - well the flip side got plays!) Contours - I'm a winner Jimmy Soul Clark - I'll be your winner Ray Agee - I'm losing again James Carr - A losing game Impressions - You've been cheating Tony Colton - I stand accused Contours - It's so hard being a loser Frank Dell - He broke your game wide open Dee Edwards - I can deal with that Big Maybelle - Quittin' time
  17. Oohh - is that another one for the list then? I think Steve was referring to the Warner Bros release number and the Innovation one (Or summat?) Some releases came out with both types of numbering, same recording though I don't think I remember hearing about the 'Sir Wales' one though Mind you, 'that article' never mentioned that at least one release came out on the 'mis spelt' label 'Innervision' - not 'Innovation' as most are! I know the label was connected with Innervision cause it says so on the small print, but as far as I know the majority of the releases were on IR Innovation II Or have I got a 'one off'?
  18. Ha ha! BTW - was that the only addition to the label list - or did you ever find any others?

I can't remember for certain but my copy was somewhere around that price - max of £15 around the same time - From dealer extrordinaire Steve Plumb! Soul Essence 2 or 3 I think it would have been - lovely tune it is!
  20. I've had numerous attempts at uploading this MP3 to Refosoul and also just as an attachment, but it just won't have it! (Any ideas why anyone? - the file is only 1.7 MB so not over the 3.91 limit) Let me know if you still want it and I'll send it you direct
  21. Hmm... This could make an interesting thread: Smashed hits - or it's a cracker! I think I might have some similar ones around somewhere...
  22. It's not listed in that article in Voices - so it can't have come out!
  23. Well - here's mine... but on closer inspection, it's not 'quite' a demo but a Juke box copy! I must have just remembered it had some sort of 'plug side' to it - see the star: So I suppose it still leaves the question of the existance of white demos unanswered
  24. Here's another goodie from that LP - from William Bell & Mavis Staples:
  25. Mine's a demo, but it's not white, just the same as the A Bet issues but with Promo or something similar printed across it. I'll try and dig it out and post a scan - if no one beats me to it! As Mark said the same song was done by the Original Drifters on Sounds South and also a Dutch or Belgium release as shown below:
