  1. these are high prices overall, i thought the results were tranding toward more reasonable, not this week.
  2. i pm'ed you in case you didn't get it.
  3. soul zodiac is an all-time classic psychedelic soul jazz LP, it's pretty excellent, like out spiritual jazz with weird zodiac spoken word over it.
  4. Marc, I'm wasn't commenting on your case specifically (it is less clear cut than other ones I've seen here), please don't take this personally, I'm actually not sure what you morally should have done in this case. However, I do think you didn't fairly depict the entire story, based on what he said his actual comments were here. Also, if you had just taken it back initially he would have sent it back and you wouldn't have had the paypal claim to deal with later though. It did work out for both of you in this case also by you going public, but in general I still don't think it's productive.
  5. I think it rarely stimulates people to discuss and reach a positive outcome. I have seen some nasty ones on here where sellers have told very one sided stories, preemptively badmouthing buyers just because they don't want to take a record back. Whenever I sell anything I will always take it back if the person isn't satisfied -- there's always someone who's a more conservative grader than you, for example, and coming online and accusing them of trying to switch out the record or something before you've even gotten it is just nasty and reflects poorly on you as a seller. I'm speaking in general terms, not referring to anyone specific here (please don't get offended anyone), but it usually comes off as very nasty and unhelpful. If you're a seller and you get your record back and refund the buyer, at worst you're just out postage and have to resell the record. If you're a buyer and get screwed, you're out a lot of money and are potentially stuck with a record that is worthless to you. I've had people send things back to me or even ask for discounts (sometimes warrantless) and I always agreed -- and I've even later seen the same people overgrade records (selling to me!) or resell the same record they asked for a discount on for much more ... it still didn't hurt me that much to comply. Unless it is a real situation where something has done something really and clearly bad / illegal (e.g. fraud), it usually doesn't accomplish much to come on here and badmouth people.
  6. I have white label promos of some of the titles, plus a weird one of windy city "good guys don't always win" where the b-side label is blank with the titles hand written.
  7. imported moods - i'm a scorpio first class - me and my gemini
  8. Look at his auctions now. He stole images and DESCRIPTIONS from other auctions. What's awesome is that his venturas auction is stolen from an auction where the label had the name scratched out, in the first part of his auction he says the label is perfect except for some x's, then in the second part (his copied description) it describes the label being scratched out as pictured. what a joke.
  9. floaters - float on prophecy - whatever's your sign got to be mine prophecy - betcha can't guess my sign
  10. thanks, I also have a lot more shows online that I've posted here. Thanks.
  11. i thought about it and if i were to sell this i would probably want at least $200 due to rarity I guess. even if people think I'm low it's still not a big buck record at least.
  12. by the way, I actually own that precisions on hen-mar now if you still need a recording of the flip (to my ears it's not good at all, it is northern though). I almost never play anything I don't own on 45 (except that delon washington that one time), mainly because I don't need to increase the competition on oddball things!
  13. thanks, anyone have the other decisions 45 on york to sell me? Both sides of that are sweet soul, no northern side on that, so you know, it shouldn't be worth anything . It's the same group as on sussex, by the way, the name Fred White is on all the 45s, he also produced the Unity 45 on Apex that I played last week (there's a good northern side on that also).
  14. thanks for noticing the magic thing, I forgot about it being on that list! I still don't know most of the other items. I'm pretty sure the guy singing lead on that platypus 45 is the same guy singing lead on the four corners on jewel, a very rare sweet soul 45.
  15. i would have said $100 but I don't know if anyone ever agrees with me. pretty good record and not really known, doesn't turn up that often.

  17. their first 45 is the flairs - i want you / all I need on the Southtown label
  18. this record is actually very rare in chicago because pretty much all the stock was imported to the UK and it didn't sell and wasn't really distributed. an even rarer record is the flairs earlier 45.
  19. If anyone cares, I just did confirm that Velvet evolved out of the Flairs (there were two common members by the time the records were recorded), and I'll be interviewing the lead, Kennis Jones, on my show at the end of this month, it will be on my webpage and I'll post it in the media section when it happens.
  20. good call Dave, I'm retarded. Lester Tipton isn't actually credited on that record then, is he? He sings on that?
  21. no, he was involved in the production
  22. I think you must have found on of the "LPTs" records, funny, I never made the connection that LPT = Lester Tipton
  23. another good one -- AVI records was owned by Liberace. Also, ALA records was owned by Redd Foxx.
  24. i think craig moorer sold this a few days ago
  25. also, looking more at it, it looks maybe like a custom cut record from the 80s. There's a record store in Chicago, Beverly records, that used to do that for people. I can't explain why someone in california would cut that song though.
