Before Northern Soul Was Invented
Reading this thread looks like our playlists from our charity soul nights,(raised nearly £11,000 in just under 3 years), great nights with great people, if you want some of this our next one is on November 17th (cheap plug)see our web site for more details. www.soulstuff.com and click on Abbeysoul for pictures etc. Scratchy by Travis Wammack was always a popular tune around our way too. cheers rob h.

Another Version
The Marvin Gaye Some Kind Of Wonderful is not the same as the Soul Brothers Six, it is a different song altogether written by Goffin/King on the In The Groove LP. also done byThe Drifters earlier, so this may be the version your friend is thinking of. rob h.

J R Bailey
bloody ell Tone your right, my copy is Billy Davis two steps from true love, i would have swore it was the reflections, funny how your mind plays tricks, but no worries while looking for the Reflections record i did not have, i came across my copy of Margaret Reynolds...Today I Started Loving You.. on Mighty Mo Records lovely midtempo tune, start playing it and then happen to notice one of the writers is none other than J R Bailey. Spookey or what rob h.

The voice sounds very familiar, sounds like an english based performer, could it be Johnny Johnson of the Bandwagon fame? Just a thought. rob h.
