  1. Top man Mike. You know all you need to know - you know what you like, and you really like modern soul! Reminds of that saying which MUST be said in a Yorkshire acccent "I like what I say and I say what I bloody well like"! You'll find some great music on here Mike - we're all hearing new stuff everyday. Peter
  2. Thank fcuk - we've nailed it Matt - it's all modern. Old Smiffy will be peeing his pants! Peter
  3. Now you're just being silly! Peter
  4. It's not what it was though Dave Peter
  5. The question was about your last purchase - not what you might buy tomorrow. Peter
  6. I think the clue is in the question - your last purchase! Peter
  7. Probably best to pm Mike. Mike - that'll be ten percent commission! Peter
  8. Just to play devils advocate and be a little contrary there are other media which are described as "modern" in a very similar way despite some posters views. Hows about this Modern Art - Modern art refers to artistic works produced during the period extending roughly from the 1860s to the 1970s, and denotes the style and... So what we got to say about this then? Peter
  9. It appears that they also donate 10% of any sale to Cancer Research and they have excellent feedback. Sound like decent people to do business with. Peter
  10. Yep, both good comps. I can also recommend Kebs Soul Spectrum comp - packed with lots of big buck goodies including Tony Fox and Flowers. If you can find one - the cd itself is becoming quite tricky. There are two, both good - the aforementioned one is the second one. Peter
  11. Nice records Byrney. Always found Dee Edwards a bit tricky to dance to. Just seen a copy of Pages on discogs - feck it's 600 squids! I'm sure i got mine dead cheap - probably from John Anderson. Maybe a tenner. Peter
  12. It played ok for me matey. Think I prefer the seven anyway. Peter
  13. Yep I know what you mean buddy. Peter
  14. I used to be scared of stompers! Straight up. LOL Peter
  15. Yep, spot on Patto. Was it a stomper or a shuffler back then? Peter
  16. Bloody hell Jordan This is a blast from the past - not heard this for ages. There's plenty on Discogs our kid. Here you go https://www.discogs.com/Silvetti-Spring-Rain/master/6540 Peter
  17. Keb wasn't playing "modern" at Stafford from my recollection. He was over his first love affair with modern at that point and was banging out the 60's newies. Sorry, if this sounds pedantic - it's not intended to be. Peter
  18. The Paul Kelly album Hooked, Hogtied and Collared - opps yep, on vinyl. Been buying a few albums lately. Peter
  19. Some awesome records on there Dave. Used to love his sets early 80's - second time round for him. Forgot about a few on that list - nice one buddy. Peter
  20. Nice record Dave. Wasn't this Pokes cover up - something and the three (two)? way split? Peter
  21. Plenty of contoversy around back then too obviously the huge Sam/Arthur split which most people will be aware of - we've done some good threads on here previously. Sam getting the sack at Wigan etc. Certain records appeared to be individually controversial too - the Cassanova record for Sam being one example. Peter
