Highly Random - The Oliver Joy Thread Prompted Me
Ok - this is a real big ask. Looked at the Oliver Joy thread a couple of times - and the title reminded me of another song - which I remember hardly anything about! I think it might have been called something "Our Love Keeps Growing" or our "Love will grow" It was very mid tempo, with deep deep main vocals. I guess it was played early 80's but was a 70's tune - might have even been late 60's. It's really bugging me. Apart from that I know nuffink. Anyone?

Wow - that's beautiful Annie. I managed the jigsaw in one hour and forty five minutes. It was quite challenging.

The Worst Journey To Wigan!?
Wild days - we were all out of fooking control! I've slept at the side of duel carriage ways, railway stations, burned out cars. The youth of today - they know fook all!

King John Nottingham
l Ay Up Mate I don;t think we could have avoided each other - it must have been nigh on impossible. I'm pretty certain that I remember a beret or two. Blue? Happy days. Me and my partner in crime brought a mini bus full from lincs to notts one night - I think we did loughborough one night and the palais the next. The van broke down on clifton bridge - we had a few of the notts lot with us at the time - we managed to get it going in thr pooring rain. Ended up at someones high rise flat - I was totally fooked. Pretty sure we then went to KJ before the palais. I had a real bad paranoid night!

A Open Question To Dave Thorley
No! A beard is for life not just for Christmas! Now - let me think, baby Jesus.

The Worst Journey To Wigan!?
It was never the journey there. It was the long, long journey home. I was never one for coach or car travel - I was nearly always sick. After a night on the old meds I was always sick!

A Open Question To Dave Thorley
It is Christmas Malayka What more could you want than a barn? Ok - a donkey and a few baying oxen. We could find three smart asses - I mean Wise Men from SS and you're all set for a magical Christmas. Twas Christmas night in the barn - nothing stirred apart from the oxen baying...........................

Better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper - unless it was a high heeled number.

A Open Question To Dave Thorley
Yep - what a u turn! I've a great deal of respect for Keb - he knows his stuff regardless of what era it comes from. I just didn't like his 60's newies era.

A Open Question To Dave Thorley
Aah Simon. I knew you'd be on side. Dirge, Garbage - whatever word we prefer it was all rubbish!

A Open Question To Dave Thorley
That's two of us then Gav! Did you dare admit that back in the day? Not many people did. I remember referring to Keb and Guy as Guy Dustbin and Keb Garbage! Obviously it was tongue in cheek - but I nearly got linched for me troubles!

Very Rare Jackie Wilson
Just ok in my book. Would make a decent James Bond theme tune.

An All-nighter
It wasn't perhaps what enough people wanted Dave - there was certainly an appetite from the people I spoke to who went. It's shame. I guess that's the one of the biggest problems. Obviously any venue has to be financially viable - and to a degree that means bums on seats. Onwards and upwards. I look forward to hearing more about the new all nighter in due course. I'm sure a few on here can put up with a few nose bleeds heading all that way darn sarf!

A Open Question To Dave Thorley
Aye! Stafford was undoubtedly a landmark and important venue - I was never a 60's mafia fan I was a modern boy and Stafford catered for both. Yep - I'd buy and read the book. Better get cracking Dave I think the consensus is a big yes!
