  1. Just seen your edit, and yes I thought she was his sister, that's what I meant by connection,
  2. No worries Jim, and I'm almost sure she wasn't, I wasn't trying to pull you up on that, in fact by making the last post I was uncomfortable that as a fight fan and a soul fan i had spent a lifetime not knowing the glaringly obvious, Any way being gay, I wouldn't know but 2 blokes wages and no kids has a certain appeal
  3. I know we are off topic a touch, but apart from the same surname what was Tammi's connection to Ernie Terrell, I know the Jean/Supremes connection but wasn't aware of Tammi and Ernie, but that's nothing new
  4. Who's Johnny Mick?
  5. Always got ya escort to fall back on, literally lol
  6. Probably, and she would still have room for you aswell
  7. This is basically what I was trying to say earlier in the thread, not very well, it's hard enough trying to sell todays discoveries to the current attendees of events in the main, let alone the masses of untrained ears, As much as I love hearing something new, I would love to hear the likes of Moses Smith and Mitch Ryder for the first time again, which means I quite envy anyone that may watch Elaines film completely unfamiliar with the soundtrack,
  8. If you are a collector that values something highly, much higher than the buyer, so if the buyer states what he is willing to pay the said collector needn't get involved = no bad blood, it's all about the starting point, in sales - state how much you want for a record, in wants - the opposite, I didn't say ban anything, just not liking some things
  9. Bob you buy your way, I will sell my way, that's fair enough, but anyone with a want and not stating what they are willing to pay are narrowing down potential results, if I wasn't actively selling the record in the first place then there is only one loser - the buyer,
  10. Bob this is crooked logic surely, you say you don't want to go back and forth bargaining, yet every time I'm the first to state a price, as a seller, that's exactly what has happened, without fail, I've even stated how much I want, been offered less, accepted the lower offer only for the buyer to offer less again all for a record I wasn't actively trying to sell, If the buyer states what they are looking to pay, I can either help out or not, thus cutting out the 'back and forth bargaining' If someone wants a record enough to post up then say what you wanna pay, and be polite enough to reply to those good enough to take time to try and help with the quest, It's not about records, it could be anything, if somebody wants something it's about common courtesy,
  11. Richard I'm not talking about bids or auctions, someone posts a want - willing to pay £40 - I might have it but didn't really wanna sell it and value it at £60+ so I won't respond, it wasn't for sale in the first place, They don't state a price and we end up in a battle of wits over a record I wasn't selling in the first place, or even worse - respond with 'tell me what you were thinking of paying' and I gaurantee almost there won't be a reply,
  12. Bob, if it was a record I am actively trying to sell it would be in sales or on ebay etc, it's usually on a shelf or in a box, so if I'm in no particular rush to sell it but someone has taken the time to post it as a want, then I wanna know what they are thinking of paying for it, why do I wanna spend time bartering over a record I didn't have for sale in the first place? I have better things to be getting on with,, thanks
  13. If someone posts a want then surely they will keep an eye on PMs more than they would normally, I'm not really a busy seller by any means, but sometimes a want is posted that I can help with, every time almost I wish I hadn't bothered, but time passes and I fall for it again, Also this has been done before, what's with the 'please PM with price and condition'? Great if a dealer reads it, but before I even consider parting with anything I would like to know what you are willing to pay, It's you that want's it, but again I end up responding with what I think is a reasonable value only to get a reply offering just a tad less, if any reply at all, wtf? do you want it or don't ya? No big deal here Rod so keep ya tits on , like I said I only get involved occasionally and usually end up regretting it
  14. Being Northern and in the area of the venues you mention is possibly the only reason I worked it out, mi owd mukka
  15. Brilliant, reading that was akin to cracking the Enigma code lol
  16. Yes And a yes a possible monumental win tonight
  17. But Paul, oh just seen Alisons reply which just about says what I mean, as much as my current top 20 'likes' doesn't even resemble the same 'chart' of 12 months ago, I'm afraid they also don't really resemble the 'Epitome of sound' either, and if I was to play a 'muggle' a typical NS tune in an attempt to describe what it's about it would more than likely be a classic, which I am sure is already another thread anyway,
  18. Paul, why fast forward a 'blank canvas' past sounds like 'Hit and run' and 'Breakout'? Yea been played to death for us, but why deprive the unknowing of such great sounds that are the backdrop to what the programme was all about?
  19. Wrong message board Can't really fault the radio show,
  20. It's already on here Winnie, post #191
  21. Dreadful, to the point I'm questioning whether it may be a wind up
  22. Not bad for UK buskers, appear mainly darn sarf, loads on youtube
  23. Give over ffs, fancy dress, okey cokey, conga, 'surfing' on tables to Hawaii 5-0, DJ dancing statue comps, all been done many times at 'respected' events, Seeing it on the tube makes it cringeworthy, get over it
  24. The 'original' Lowton soul nights, weren't alien to the Hokey Cokey or the Conga on more than 1 NYE bash 10/15 years back,
