  1. The later the bid there is always some advantage I'd say, in any auction
  2. No, we were talking about Clive Dunne so I started it
  3. Can only assume any 'reserve' has been reached, that's if there was such a thing in the first place, JM has 'announced' what the winning bid is and that the record has now 'gone'
  4. A few years ago I had a G&W demo of Grandad in a sales box I lugged round venues, just to see the reaction of potential buyers looking through the box, the funniest thing was how often it went unnoticed Nige Brown was doing a similar thing with 'Ernie' around the same time
  5. I would rather take a chance on a late bid than take a chance on being outbid, regardless of interest/price, I don't think i'm the only one with this train of thought either
  6. Was just going to say the same, possible bidders waiting til the last seconds, and crash......................
  7. Site down with 7 seconds to go 14.5K?
  8. I don't know what's on your prescriptions Steve, I don't remember it being played last night(although that doesn't mean it wasn't) but I know we didn't have a discussion about it, well not in my world we didn't
  9. You mentioned you had been suffering from back trouble last night Steve, maybe you should've had your ears checked while you were being treated...................I most certainly did NOT play this at Ramsbottom last night, and you didn't mention it to me!!!!!!
  10. Nige I haven't claimed to play it first, anything but mate, was just reminiscing with Patto with regards to it being played at Prestwich and time scales, and then remembered how well it sold, Which is why I have let it go a couple of times myself as I said earlier, Like you say back on topic now
  11. Come on now Nige, you bought more than just one and they didn't do you any harm
  12. It was me then Patto, Nige will verify I put him on to it so I doubt he would have played it at T.S.O.P around that time
  13. You will probably tell me it wasn't me Patto, but that time scale fits in with me playing my first one at T.S.O.P, I say first one as I have got rid of it twice for it to get another lease of life and me pick it up again,
  14. I'm out playing a few every weekend, often at some very busy oldies events and I don't even own half of that list on post #1, until seeing this thread I had never heard the Soulutions track, As already said it must be a regional thing, then again I do get about, I have also been asked to play Herb Ward with alarming regularity for as long as I can remember, again at busy oldies nights, "Turley Richards", "Albert Washington" been mentioned? Seem to hear these everywhere
  15. 11,475
  16. I'm impressed Mr Shard, You have got to grips with 'quoting' posts, well done
  17. Just an observation of the last few years, how on earth can we expect to have all the debates and conversations about the future of the 'scene' and who will take it forward, support all things publicity wise like documentaries and films etc, then expect everyone paying 'us' a visit (regardless of age) to hit the ground running and fit in with half a century of rules, You either want to share it or keep it, but don't expect people to automatically be familiar with the etiquette,
  18. Done Horrible
  19. Fantastic pictures, how come so bright? I don't remember it being that bright and a camera flash wouldn't do it surely,
  20. On the counterfeit matrix number the 6 and the 2 are both looped with tails whereas on the original the 6 is more like a 'b' and the 2 is more like erm.....a 2, I think there is more than one 2 or 6
  21. If they weren't real Corgi's would 'Mongrel' have not covered it???
  22. It obviously isn't!!!
  23. Tony Rounce mentioned on Facebook the other week that after listening to "The in crowd" for donkeys years he had never noticed that in the opening verse the backing singers actually sing "Out on the floor", I must admit neither had I,
