  1. I like all sorts of Music .. Led Zep..Punk..the Stranglers could very soulfull "golden brown" for instance ,Latin ,Salsa when Northern Soul turned pop in the late 70's I turned to Funk, Bootsy Collins and George Clinton could do no wrong back then, would'nt expect to hear em at a Doo tho' Bazza
  2. Yep your right Mand both pure northern tunes ,Dells still gives me chills an all Bazza
  3. One tune you DJs love to mess around with is the modern tune "Tribute To Betty (Tonight) I honestly thought at one time there was two versions of this.because of clever arses pitching it up.....leave em alone Bazza
  4. Now then ,pitching up,I am very much against it ,I want hear the tune at the speed it was intended.and not at the speed some clever arsed Dj thinks in his opinion the tune should sound,of course he knows better than the original Artist/producers,(no he does not )in my opinion it stinks, you know it all DJs should leave the thing as it was intended,I do feel strongly about this and I could say a lot more ,but I wont another rant over Bazza
  5. I think I was lucky in the fact that I used to find it easy to learn ,no matter what the style was, these days I have had to learn again, cos the way I used to dance is just too much for me ..( I always put everything I have into it )...more of a mid tempo shuffler now , it used to upset me because I could'nt do what I used to ,but I have got used to that now ,learned to love it all again...Im 51 now so .................. Bazza
  6. also love .Merengue and Salsa..any latin type stuff....Dance to it all Bazza
  7. 9. Hi Ken,is there a Motown, version with Vocals, I thought it was a myth, or do you mean that Lavine Crap Bazza
  10. Yes Winnie, it did have an influence...for me a negative one ..for others maybe a positive one ,I was saying tunes such as that turned me away from the scene, but as you say obviously it had an affect..good or bad ,depends on you point of view Bazza
  11. Surely you mean success or downfall of the scene Bazza
  12. Footsee, joe 90,Hawaii 5 O,,,all utter rubbish ,yes they did influence me...to move away from Northern soul ,Wigan did as much damage to the scene in its later years ,as the good it did for it in the early years, infact Wigan in its later years was a joke, nearly killed the whole scene, anyone that says, it was the best thing that happened to northern soul ,has not got a clue what it was all about I may look at things a little differently to some of you because I was around 1972 onwards just my opinion of course...........rant over Bazza

  18. Great tune...but its got a touch of the R&Bs to me Bazza
  19. Yep I agree ,you do mean the instrumental, and not the vocal version, was it Bob Relf who did the vocals....should have left it alone, the instrumental was pure Northern Bazza
  20. If some one asked me this ,and I could only play one tune,it would have to be Valentinos - Sweater Than The Day Before always thought of it as a pure solid Northern tune what single tune would you use to try and explain it Bazza
