Overall not bad., the presenter was very good not patronising. My only winge was when the Scottish lass said Pauls spin was quite good even though he had the "WRONG" shoes on. The shoes were all leather with leather soles.???? I can only assume she got so used to seeing Adidas at Wigan she thinks they are dancing shoes.???

Dislike.!!(sorry mixed up another post) is a very odd word to describe a record that has been very popular & still is with all the New people that have got into this scene over the last few yrs. As someone said further back , it's just another pop record(as "ALL"records want to be!) that's been played to death.imo!.

Yes Mickey your right this is about Taste"BAD TASTE".! This fashion for Baggy pants and circle skirts is in "my" opinion a very sad reflection of the scene today. Most of the people wearing this gear are returnees or new comers. Most soulies I know evolved with the fashion of the day Although men still wear parallels in style. I agree people can wear whatever they like but just why "Adults" would want to dress this way is way beyond me .!! Outsiders must think it's fancy dress.? o.k. it is Fancy Dress.!! & no we dont all call it Northern Soul, I call Modern MODERN.!r&b R&B,house HOUSE etc etc.

yes same round here (north west Lancs) a few so called promoters putting on as many events as they can every wkend on Fri,Sat Sunday.We started a Sunday event over two yrs ago now because the Venue had a licence that meant everybody had to be out by 11.00.PM. Now look at the calender you cant move for Sunday events,lots of them "free" the D.j.s dont get paid (just the promoter), these people are only interested in the money (you know who you are )!!!not in the Music. Far to many inferior events full of newcomers and Handbaggers. I better stop now.????

Heres a few, The Record exchange (on brown st I think)Blackburn. He would ask us what was being played at the Wheel or the Mecca & he would then get them in (if available of course)from the wholesalers to sell on in the shop. After a while we stopped telling him because he never reciprocated i.e.discount on records we bought.! Also Reidys records(Marie reidy)Penny st and Holts records upstairs on Darwen st(above Holts Shoe Shop,which is now in Whalley)? The Co-op of course,wish i would have bought more picture sleeved vinyl.? they had them all.!!! Then for a while Tony Charles records in Darwen,which was above what is now Nigel Rostrons Locksmiths shop on Bolton rd. Marys records in Accrington................e.t.c. they were some of our local ones.

Agree with the Monaco fab !,went to an all dayer at "Bury Town Hall "the other wk, That" floor is fantastic(although i did have 5 pints of Guinness)??
