  1. Yep got a nice minty issue for sale.
  2. Doh! forgot to look there, Top man.
  3. I can't find one as well as a start I have 3 by them but nothing of The Gypsies. Stronger Nothing Someone
  4. Then its the G and after that its only fit for DJ purchases yes I get it now.
  5. I have few of these bad but goodies and yes agree with minty's sounding poor but evn if its a perfect copy they all sounding different.
  6. Agree Pete but both side for me.
  7. https://www.rare-soul.com/podcasts/northernselection.mp3 is the track That's When You Know It When You Show It Falling in Love. A lot of tunes to play made a random choice.
  8. I will spell it out for you Jean, the copies I have had with Steve Kennedy on have been shagged out records and not worth the money, either his old worn out copies or just sold on from a collection. I think it has a lot to do with quality if you see one of these records for sale it could be frooked. If I seen or spot one its not a record I will stick my neck out to get hope this makes sense to you.
  9. Sure I have seen this going for 150 when I was after a copy a few years ago, the white demo's look scrumptious. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...amp;x=2&y=6
  10. Epic isn't it or is Columbia the UK one.
  11. on the contrary Kev, I value your opinion on the Melvin tis a fantastic 70ts midtempo record and to bring attention to its quality is worth more than gold. thanks.
  12. yeah but how many years did granny own that car and forget to check the oil and water. A M+ styrene record played once on a dodgy needle and that's it fuzz and hiss forever more, Oh Granny. Or is it I have been working on a new technique that seems to reduce and remove hiss from records but I will need to do more tests.
  13. Hurrgg humm M+ is my own personal rating when a record is so Mint its just gleams at you, it has an electric aura about its presence. There is M and megga Mint just out of the box never seen the light of day, factory wax from the Thelma's. Mint could have been played 10 times or 50 times but Megga is unplayed. I hear that finger acid can damage a record so even badly handle mint should the fall into the M- category.
  14. I remember Mick H playing Salvadors VG copy but when its that rare I agree. My mate got Cashmeres the other day uncleaned, damaged, hiss where I don't own a record that sounds as bad. So could just be down to personal taste. I want a pair of Beer Goggles.
  15. I have had a few with Steve Kennedy on they have always been worn out copies so I stay away from them now. Makes me think did he sell or were they stolen.
  16. You see records graded as G and the seller says its fine for DJing shurly if a record has marks crackles or what ever you are going to hear it even if its played quiet or loud. I have a Linda & The Pretender's and a Jimmy Ricks that hiss you can hear this when its played out but it just turns into an ambient noise. So as punters are we only fit to listen to G condition records? casue we wont know any different after paying good money to go and get into a club.
  17. I spent 120 quid the other night on going out, if its to hear £40 records bought for £20 cause they are fooked and the DJ's to tight to get a minter I may as well stay in and play my minter or don't you think we can hear the difference after a pint.. Just a thought.
  18. Tailgate 21st Creation I think the 12 inch was 14 minuets long.
  19. Am I missing the point hear but I don't honestly see how you can compare two records that are recorded nearly twenty years apart, I have never heard some much crap in my life. Think a bit more logically if you can. Actually following on with your logic DB is pants compared to MBJM but that compared to The Kings Of Soul is shit, yeah I have got it now.
  20. I am sure if you put up a list of records you and marilyn like I could find a few that are shite in their as well every body has likes and disslikes. I personaly don't know of anyone who dosent like this record but then I am down South most clubs have younger Mod crowed in.
  21. Maybe broad minded wasn't the term to use but a more early 60ts ear.
  22. Watchout for the white demo boot Ken
  23. I think it's more for R&B Popcorn night where their are more new discoveries' than on the Northern Scene until your alternate soul DJ pounces on the tune. Funny when I play it or hear it out it fills the floor with a groan or a core from the crowed as they race to the dance floor, strange there are not more broad minded listeners voicing there opinion on this thread.
  24. Try Ebay there is one finishing soon 152 $ last time I looked. https://cgi.ebay.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-45-COOKI...1QQcmdZViewItem
