It won´t, here´s another post bringing the thread back up to the top of the page again. I love this group too, definitely one of the finest soul-funk groups to come out of the UK. I revisit their albums from time to time, and a special favourite for me too of course is their wonderful rendition of the "Angel" classic. I actually thought they released three albums (the first AND the last one being selftitled?!), but not 100% sure and cannot check right now because my record collection is in a bit of a disarray at the moment. Best, Melismo

  7. RENEE´ STEED: "Songs We Sang As Children"/"Middle Of A Heartache" (45) XL Records out of Memphis Tennessee. When was this 7" released? Must be the 60´s, but what year to be exact? Maybe someone has any other interesting info on the lady and the record? Thanks in advance Mel
  8. Hi Bob! Brilliant show as always. Lots of great cuts and interesting to hear that very early LJ Reynolds recording! Best regards Melismo
  9. Seem to remember there being a female artist named Brandy who at a young age cut a duet album with Edwin Starr, not the same lady by any chance?
  10. Yes, I am definitely a fan. Zulema Cusseaux was a very talented vocalist, songwriter (songs penned for Aretha and others) and producer. Loved her early work with Lovelles/Faith, Hope and Charity, and her solo albums, which are both cheap/easy to find, and, most importantly, quality albums musicwise. Modern soul fans on here will probably be in possession of the album she recorded as Zalmac, a duo formed with Al MacDowell in the early 80´s.

  15. A few days ago I received a couple of CDs, one from Chris Anderton, and one from Blake Helliwell. Both great CDs, very much enjoyed the selection of tunes!!! Am a bit surprised at the lack of activity in this here thread. For instance would be nice to have people confirming that they´ve received the discs, and perhaps some other comments... Have all/most CDs now been sent out? Am too lazy to count...lol...but have very much enjoyed the ones that have dropped on my doorstep and then found their way into my CD player, all on heavy rotation Best, Mel
  16. "I Don´t Love You Anymore", one of my alltime favourites - always loved that track. Vocals to die for! I have the LP, it´s recommended too for "One Stands Here", as others have also pointed out. Maurice Long apart from recording under his own name did session work backing up the likes of Two Tons of Fun and The Sylvers. In regards to your question, not aware of the tune being available on any comp?!

  23. Accidentally, yesterday I was listening to white violinist David LaFlamme, three very soulful tracks from his 1976 Amherst album White Bird, the tunes were "Swept Away", "Easy Woman" and "This Man" on which he´s backed up by the Tower Of Power horn section.
