  1. I'm afraid not. a few years ago i won a copy of betty lloyd - i'm catching on, it was an unissued version, original pressing. As it ended quite cheap (approx 130 usd i seem to remember), a few people started to discuss this on here. Somebody emailed the seller who later contacted me saying that his dog had broken the record, which was no longer for sale...
  2. will be visiting your site more often Darren the list was last updated in january, and to be honest i haven't been very active in record hunting (soul-wise) since then. But Easter brought back the record flu again, so i need to find a cure now...
  3. hello Marc, cheers for that. hadn't noticed the ww on ebay, though the rm has been there for a while and seems to be pretty expensive given the condition. ciao, g
  4. updated! new wants added!
  5. If another copy turns up on ebay i think it would easily end up at 100+ ukp
  6. Hi Dave, it should be the cheers, but on another label, can't remember much else though...
  7. Hi Steve, out of curiosity, do you also have 9418 - Freddie North - Don't Make Me Look So Bad / Hold Back - 1967It took me a very long time to locate one, and it seems to be one of the rarest on the label. Does anybody else on here own a copy of this?
  8. Hi Rod,yes, you are totally right. More of a provocation from my side, rather than an actual demand. But if somebody who is not a regular poster on here makes a first purchase and then shortly after claims that the record has not been delivered, then he's either very apprehensive because of lack of experience with international transactions or he's just a dodgy character. I think it's the seller's right to tactfully check on this guy's honesty, maybe through past transactions with others ss members. What I think is absolutely wrong is to start generalising on the whole population's honesty or a national postal system, which sooner than later will harm honest buyers = the vast majority.Best,g
  9. Hey Dave, as an italian record collector I think that you must name and shame the guy if you feel he's ripping you off. There's not so many collectors in Italy (certainly not as many as in the uk), it's quite a small community and we more or less know each other. On a slightly separate note, I'm getting pissed off with all the prejudices concerning italian buyers and the italian post system. Firstly, because over the past 15+ years of record collecting I think only a couple of parcels have not been delivered (because of the dishonesty of the seller). I've bought hundreds of records on here, 5£ to 1000+£, never had a single problem, other than misgrading, especially from uk sellers which, to me, is a plain rip-off. Do I come here everytime saying that all uk sellers or dealers are misgrading their records? If anybody has had problems with italian buyers/postal system FIRST-HAND, can they please state when, how, which records and what sums are involved and hopefully the person's name? Then we can see how big the problem is and how many liars/thieves are amongst us italian collectors. I am not saying that we are all saints, I just wonder if the rate of "lost" packages in italy is sensibly higher than those lost all over europe. BTW, Dave I do hope that the record is delivered and nobody loses money on this. Best, Giulio

  19. A few years ago I bought a copy of John Bowie - You're Gonna Miss a Good Thing. Had it delivered to my parents' place, as I am often abroad on biz trips. When I returned, I visited my parents to collect a couple of records that had arrived, 1 cheapie and John Bowie. Put both of them into a mailer and left the other mailer on the table at my parents' place. A few hours later my mother told me that she had broken a record while bending a supposedly empty mailer. When she told me what was written on the label I felt like dying. Of course I hadn't collected both records but only the cheapie ...

  21. I've noticed that there are 2 different label pressings of this tune. One is plain white and the other is light blue with a bit of an artwork. They both have the same matrix number etc. I was therefore wondering if one of the two is a later pressing or if they just came out with 2 different artworks. Thanx, Giulio

  23. mhhhhh, sorry Benji but my experience with the rimini soul week-ender is very different from yours, actually the opposite, and I have attended all of them. In its first editions, this week-ender always attracted a big deal of brits, both djs and punters. The weird thing is that, for some reasons, the italians tended not to attend it. When the week-ender was held at the Io Street Club (and the afternoon dos at the bar above the venue), I have never witnessed any particular misbehaviour, other than a few soulies in high spirits. I'm not saying that nobody ever sang football songs etc, it just never happened in front of me. As the years went by, less and less brits came, i presume mainly for a couple of reasons: 1) economic recession 2) much less favourable rate exchange When Io Street Club turned into a strip bar (or sthing like that), the organisers moved the event to a smaller, more intimate venue. They started to book more italian djs and more italians attended the past editions. If the numbers went somewhat down, the quality of the music played has certainly gone up, with a great variety of quality sounds being played all over the week-end all topped by a cool, laid back atmosphere. Witnessing the sun rise around 5.30 am while dancing to some amazing Arthur Fenn's selections just gave me incredible emotions over the past 3 or 4 years. hope to see you there this year best, g
  24. Are the Southern Artists and Bell pressings equally rare or is one of the two rarer, less common, than the other?
