  13. I will always be eternally grateful to Mr Levine for his contribution to the scene via his discoveries played at the Mecca 1972ish plus the video stuff he did on the wheel and its patrons via the three box vid set he did. Up until then I always viewed those that patronised the Wheel as Soul music supporters who enjoyed the amphetamine fuelled scene that it was. I always maintained those that went to the Torch were far superior and with it than those bloke who went to the Wheel, the truth is that those guys who did the Wheel 69 onwards had it off big time and all that followed that unique establishment should never forget the part it had shaping the next two decades. I just wish I had been born 3 year earlier...bastards shit bollocks... Then again a mate of mine who missed his lift to his first ever Torch night in Jan 73 because he stopped off for a beer en route to the pick up point always wishes he had left his house 30 mins earlier....lol
  14. Thanks Adi...do you have an underdub of The Thrill of the Romance kicking about, you'll be mortified to know I'm now on Serotin.

  16. I recently came across this whilst playing through some LP's that a mate gave me, Stax 1969 You've Got To Have Eddie. First track side one, awesome tune that I just keep having too play, and it cost me fekk all. Did some research and was advised by those ITK that its an album track only. The soul club take is different, slower and less strings, anybody have any info??? click here

  23. Records that when you first heard them you thought "what a crock of shyte" then as the years pass you by you realise just how good they are. The Casanova Two...We got to keep on. Steve Elliot played me this downstairs in Selectadics before it was even known..."got 6 copies £2 each"..."f*** of Steve thats shit, I'll take Condition Red mate" 34 years later Casanove two sits proud in my collection as a masterpiece... anyone else?
  24. no wonder it never made it. Awful NS tune imo, then again I've always had appalling taste.
