  1. Addition to the discography: 253 Bourbon Street Cabaret Band & Stripping Soc., Inc. - Linda Baby Pt. 1/Pt. 2
  2. Constellations, I Didn't Know How To/Popa Daddy (Gemini Star pink stock copy), very clean VG++ with just some light scuffing, minuscule bit of label damage around the edge of label. $100 US plus shipping. Paypal only.
  3. Pts. 1 and 2. Funk dancer, super-clean VG++ condition, $750 U.S. plus $25 for USPS Express Mail Shipping. Paypal only. Email to reserve: finewine@wfmu.org
  4. Communicators and Black Experience Band, The Road/Has Time Really Changed (Tri Oak). Funk side is VG+ (on a M–/VG+/VG scale). Some scuffs that don't affect play; a bit of noise at the very start of record but thereafter it plays flawlessly. Ballad side is VG++. Very nice copy. $650 U.S. I'll cover shipping via USPS Express Mail (which costs me $30 for Europe). Paypal gift only.
  5. Beautiful, practically new VG++ copy. $250 US, postage paid (unless you want fancy shipping, which is extra). Paypal gift only. Email to reserve: finewine@wfmu.org
  6. Ha, just pulled this out, gave it a listen, thought "Wow!", googled it, and found this. Great minds etc. etc.
  7. Jesse James, "Dreams Never Hurt Nobody"/"Somebody Really Mine" (Musicor white promo)...Killer popcorn R&B...strong VG (plays fine)...$100 U.S....paypal only; $7 shipping. Email to reserve: finewine@wfmu.org
  8. Got mine from either Manship (or was it Tim Brown?) 15-18 years ago when it was a £2.50 catalogue item...Think I got two or three of 'em, spares long gone. Same with Webb People, if memory serves....

Might help if you got the title right! It's "Sick." Unless he has another I don't know about.
  10. The flip of this one is quite nice, too!
  11. I think I've lost even my one keeper copy of the CD! I'm trying to track down another from the radio station....
  12. Hey, gang. Here's another (confusing) thread on pretty much the same topic from three years ago: To sum up, I got the "unknown artist" version many years ago from my uncle in Detroit, who worked closely with Ollie McLaughlin. It's a ten-inch acetate with zero information on it. Ollie's name was written on the sleeve. I still think it's much, much better than either of the other two versions! Oh, and I assume whoever posted it on youtube got it off a CD I made as a WFMU premium giveaway for listeners who donated to the station during one of our fund drives. (I have made four volumes of around 27 tracks each of Detroit rarities over the years for this purpose, which include a handful of other unreleased things.) Cheers, Matt
  13. Anyone have a clean copy for me? Thanks.
  14. I've been hammering both sides of that Fidels for a while now. Great record. Obviously an aberrant price, but it's only going to go up in value.
  15. Beware....I've had a copy of this forever that looks mint but plays with much distortion from start to finish. Basically unplayable. My friend has an identical one that plays perfectly, though. I haven't seen enough copies to know whether the distortion problem was unique to mine....
  16. I think that's a great price. Tough one, and one of my favorite Detroit R&B records.
  17. There was a discussion of the price of the Sonja record on here several months ago: /forums/topic/135055-tina-turner-we-need-an-understanding-sonja/page__hl__sonja__fromsearch__1

Sorted, thanks. Actual prices paid for this on ebay don't seem to reflect what dealers charge...They seem to sell for around £40 when up for auction lately.

There's a hole in my record collection called "Happy Go Lucky Me." The original, not the later version, please. Stock or promo, clean copy. Cash awaits. Anyone? (I have the worst luck on here with wants....99 percent of them go unresponded to....Will this be an exception?)

  21. Beware the lookalike boots made in Detroit in the '80s...which themselves are probably pretty scarce at this point.
  22. Clips of most of the records are easily findable on youtube or through googling.

  24. Just picked this up. I may have had it once before but never listened to this side, which is superb. Presumably it's no rarer than his others, right? But far fewer copies seem to be about on the usual websites....Can't find it on refosoul either, just the inferior flip. Highly recommended!!
