a good dancer is anyone who gets on the floor and enjoys what they are doing ( not counting the ones who are pissed and have a beer in hand lol ) people should be encouraged to dance just as they wish at whatever speed they feel... so odd , and yet sometimes so right to see someone dancing to the "underbeat" of a fast record and dancing quite slow.. yet so but quite in time .. ifyou know where i'm coming from ? ... as for acro's .. at the right time please , nothing worse than "off beat " with those .. not as common now but if you can still do a bit and above all enjoy what you do then go ahead, ,it's the "northern way" and should be kept alive as part of the heritage of a great dance culture that is "northern soul " keep on steppin ! pete n' susan ktf

yes i remember the tee shirts with comic pages printed on them. Myself and some of my friends had them,and if we all wore them at the same time ,we could read each others tee shirts while waiting in the queue at a venue lol lv susan x

spot on spike .. closest to "highstreet" trousers n' suits i ever had to were "spencers" who made em for the masses ... not bad trousers , but not the same as having em proper tailor made ... £5.00 depost n' £5.00 a week , balance on collection ... a fortune in those days as an apprentice lol .... we were never ever the same as everyone else ... that was the whole point in designing yer own ... and fred perry , slazenger, levi etc all superb icons of a wonderful time pete

not quite right Tommo you cant change history so dont let it annoy you .. we were having baggies made at tailors long before high street shops began to retail them .. true they fell out of favour in the 80 's ... but at the end of the day "baggie pants n' buttons n' pockets etc are the only true visual identity northern soul ever had .. everything else was just taken from the mod , skinhead , suede head scene .. in the 70's every sub culture had a dress code .. and baggies etc,... that was northern soul , me ? I went from 69 skinhead to suede head to soulie .. who would have thought that we would have still been doing this 40 years on lol pete

we had a fantastic day filming and dancing at the dome... thursday just not the ideal day , as Tommo says with work n' travel etc .. hope to get to the exhibition though .. Dean and the film crew showed such a passion and understanding of what they wanted to film and the younger genearation of soulies were fantastic in everyway possible, in dance and dress , and passion about the music that has fueled us now for decades... top people ! hope to see some of them at stoke all nighter this weekend ... pete n' susan ktf

we have danced with these people a few times now and played for them.. they are so bowled over by the music and dance .. the just love and live for it now ... and some have been around for a good few years too ! they are all really nice open people with a passion.. power to them ! and if some choose to dress in "the way" thats fine .. if they dont thats cool too ..
