great record Grant .. fav of mine , but is one of those that regular has that effect , but played at right time , right venue, will pack the floor .. funny old game aint it lol odd that connie clark emptied the floor in the east mids .. sell the "£700 +" ish record and buy something else ? .... pete

try a bar of soap .. works the same .. just rub it on your soles .. pete n' susan

some sort of crystal that makes the floor like an ice rink .. not had any in my hand but only small grains that squash and create a coating on the floor .. .. it cannot be seen .. .. so is quite dangerous .. pete

IF a floor is very sticky a very small amount under your own feet is enough .. take two pair of shoes to the venue , slippy ones and sticky ones .. easy ! Talc is the now used as some sort of statement at times .. like an entrance statment by throwing it all over even before trying the floor .. Health issues too as the cloud affects asthma sufferers ..and to some degree everyone, not good stuff to be breathing in .. .. let alone the broken bones issue.. Only good thing is at least you can see talc and avoid it .. unlike the wax chips coming into use.. overall , used with sense , it's ok ..just that bit under your feet .. and most are happy , remember your talcsoaked heaven is another dancers hell ! the scene ( if i can continue to use that word ) may well go underground again , to smaller clubs .. but that does not say it will die , its just changed from those days of massive dancehalls full of people EVERY week .. having said that it may well rise gain to something close for a while ... the tide comes and goes with eveything in life .. Susan and myself have quite a lot of contact with these "younger" people .. embrace them and they will embrace you back ten fold .. we went along to the first night at Highfields wigan ... some coming in said , "hmmm, not stopping here its like a youth club" and off they went .. those that stayed had brilliant night and had a real bonding with the "young souls" as they have become known. Blackbee is another night we support whenever we can .. great friends and younger people with a vision .. the new film coming along next year is looking so very , very good , and will be a shot in the arm for the movement (scene) ... course some will say no !!! please we don't need em ! ... there will be wheat and chaf that will come along after .. but the wheat will make the bread that we eat for what i hope will be many years to come .( it will do us all well to remember, bread comes in all variations......and different wrappers ! ) pete n' susan xx

I was one of those that kept it warm too .. though like many , it became more a once or twice a month venture than three times a week .. familys and mortgages and life took over for a while ... it was just a lull ... some came into the scene as "quadrophenia" brought in a new younger crowd at the time .. from which also the current "mod" and scooter scene became stronger too .. the younger crowd is very welcome as far as I am concerned , they mix well, have more far , far more knowledge than people credit them for , as i said , power to them . off to leeds central now .. have a nice day people pete n' susan

too fast ??? no way ! .. if it were too fast it would not be so popular , and to be honest it ain't that fast .. it only dropped away on a natural cycle ..and is now doing the rounds again.. pete
