I spent a long time looking for the James Bell never did get one in the end. Saw a few for sale but I always wanted one for less. nice record.
  2. I like the "weirdos" quote. thats exactly how it should be. Everybody equal and out for a good time no matter what age / image / dress sense. Must admit in my early years on the soul scene which wasn't that long ago I never had any problems.

same seller who had them before betwen $50 and $100. And now less than 1/2 what i paid. stock seems to have gone down a bit now as well. IF this is a genuine case of 10 copies only left then they should get snapped up. Tempted to get myself a spare now.

you probably already know this but it isn't the flip to "help me make up my mind" google isn't much help either not with the searches I just tried.

always liked this one myself.... full of energy. didn't like it enough to keep it though sold for about 25 quid a couple of years ago so no doubt will soon be 100 quid.

even if a boot was rarer than an original can't see why you would want one ? surely you would still buy the original. but going on seb's comments some people may be sat on boots they think are originals etc etc.

well its sods law now that it will go up in value as I only baught 1 for my collection and no spares. not sure if it has any dancefloor appeal which seems to be the main driver in price increases... but its a great record.
  9. when do you stop being young ? when does the x-over to oldness happen
  10. are they allowed to do that ?

a few months ago a seller had them as BIN on ebay with something like 20 available. He started about $100 and then gradually dropped price to about $50. Its a very good record IMO and probably suffered a price drop as this guys copies sat on ebay not selling for quite a while. Not seen them for a while though but I don't think that they all sold ? sorry can't remember who it was ..... also just seen that moerer has sold one for $50 auction after having it as a $150 set sale for some time. could creep up a bit again if these copies all went into collections ?

yes the deep soul thread is very good. my offering for now though would be Loretta Williams "I'm missing you" sensational. I think the other side could easily be classed as northern ?
  14. heavy praise indeed. now does anybody want to buy my spare river city 45....
  15. if it sounds like it was cut at the same session as the river city and is cheap then its a no brainer. will be added to the collection soon.
  16. oh i've seen that one around. what style is it ? and also is it good / worth picking up ? he has quite a big discography.
  17. oh.. i've seen that one around quite a bit. is it any good ? he has quite
  18. whats now and then ? is it a 45 people like ? I bet they do.....

jackie day "naughty boy" fantastic sax break exactly what northern is all about to me but the vocal is terrible.
  20. having 3 copies in 1 city is just greedy... share the music send one over here.
  21. saw one copy go completely unoticed on ebay for $15 then next one went for about $150. I was kicking myself that I didn't bid on the first I mentioned I was sure it was going to get a high snipe but it never did. another one of my 45s i've got John Ridley's fantastic site to thank for. My copy was originally found in Holland so there may be more over there ? they do like a good ballad. I'm not allowed to add a selection of 5 records to this thread as I live in UK
  22. just talking about this the other day to somebody. blew me away when I first heard it on your CD
  23. fantastic this (flip side offcourse) have you ever seen it on quadrant ?
  24. It still is "just about never seen" I don't be put off by the fact I luckily came across a couple of copies. Not aware of any more myself. so far no joy with selling this ?? quite suprised realy expected at least some interest ?? will take deep soul / sweet soul trades I consider to be of equal value.

I had to choose between bliss and RIP as money was tight on that day. I choose bliss. vocalist on RIP lets it down a bit backing track is pretty good though. I struggle to hear what he is saying.
