  1. there must be a soul song called Mr X or Mrs x but it is cheating a bit
  2. judge of hearts is also fantastic he made so many brilliant records. NOt sure i've ever listened to the flip though so it may not fit into this thread properly.
  3. its not massively known by northern people as it only had a few pplays on that scene but obviously some know it. A lot of funk people know it though but that scene is very small.

interesting that I could be 2 people on each side. I've not listened to this for a long time and don't have a copy anaymore but never realy considered this .
  5. the label designs look similar and he recorded on both labels so at a guess they are from same stable. As far as I know the kick off sides only came out on that label. His merging 45 is different sides. I have the merging one at home so could comfirm tonight.

fool to fool and sitting in are both on the same 45 on tru glo town so its same person.
  8. another bump..........
  9. The flip of the funk biggie by innersouls on plemmons is a brilliant mellow soul track. Not sure i'd class it as a traditional ballad its more haunting almost x-over.
  10. They most likely won't be known as double siders as the music is so far removed from northern soul that a lot of people might not even like what they hear when they flip it over.
  11. I've tried rearranging it and it still doesn't make sense.
  12. I must've missed the clean one I recently saw a g copy and there is another crackly copy recorded on youtube. hanceville-a sells a lot of great records.
  13. The david dee side "forgive me girl" on the flip of "ever loving man" is brilliant deep soul. all copies i've seen have been in very poor condition does anyblody have an Ex or better one ?
  14. has jimmy robins "I just can't please you / I made it over" had a mention yet. Great cheapie.
  15. buddy cantrell on tuska barbara hall "big man / broken hearted" also on tuska broken hearted far far superior to the recetly popular uptempo side.
  16. charles burns on gene ernie wheelwright on gaye a couple more with great deep soul flips that are popular northern items. I came across both these as deep soul 45s then realised as I was chasing them that they were also wanted for the uptempo sides. I kept getting outbid and never got either.
  17. for some reason I thought one was called "what is it"
  18. I'm not 100% on this i'd need to check but i'm sure they are different titles.
  19. peoples choice "easy to be true" flip to "savin my lovin for you"
  20. Dave the uptempo sides of minit and keyman are different songs with different titles not same song released twice.

That was a great night. Only on the northern soul scene do venues like this exist.
  22. These swaps in the past have always been excellant for anybody thinking of joining you would not be dissapointed.
  23. Fully agree with you here the flip is terrible, real scraping the bottom of the barrel stuff. This side is very nice though.
  24. a few gone but plenty more bargains. The tiara label thing at the start of the list is great. Worth looking for a youtube link if you don't know it.
  25. of the 4 sides my favourite is porbably "how I feel"
