  1. I'd be interested to hear the opinions of people like Steve G on the annette snell issue on epic with "promises should never be broken" on the flip side. I did recently list it for sale and believe its a very hard issue to find so would be good to hear the views of a long time collector. Gareth commented he hadn't heard it so that tells me it must be pretty tricky.
  2. WOW !! To be honest I haven't been in the game of looking properly for a while now. BUt when I was looking I would've snapped your hand off at that price.
  3. Thats a brilliant record. I've never seen that for sale.
  4. We will have to disagree on that one. I've seen enough copies to convince me its not rare.
  5. can't disagree with you on those two I'm going to have to splash some cash on a new laptop soon this is driving me nuts
  6. I can't see youtube embedded links on this computer what are they ? And don't get me wrong i'd love a copy of sam williams as its a brilliant record but i'm not paying the kind of money it sells for. I have the deep soul flip on a small label and that is a seriously hard to find record but not the kind of thing being discussed here.
  7. sam williams on tower isn't a rare record IMO.
  8. I also think this version is better than Don Bryant.
  9. You don't need to tell me that I have the record the rayons sing on the flip but I suspect you already know that.
  10. It's just a reflection on record sales everywhere I don't see this place as any different good and bad prices on a regular basis. IMO If people are going to spend a lot of money on a record it should be because they love the record and have already spent a l0ot of time and effort looking for it. That way they can be reasonably sure its not an easy find. If you jump in feet first and spend big it doesn't deserve much sympathy.
  11. Prehaps not as rare as the 2 examplesd give but 2 on decca that i think are pretty rare. rayons "i'm giving up" and tony ashley "i'll go crazy" thety are actually consecutive label numbers as well and the tony ashley features the rayons on backing vocals.
  12. could be a just soul anthem if mr hempsey or one of the gang got behind it
  13. just had a quick listen to sugar boy as I didn't know it and there seems to be a few ripples judging by the comments on here its received more than any other record mentioned. Its pretty good but not as good as the little beaver I mentioned not in the same league IMO. and i'm sure peggy babcock will love it that tempo is right up his street.
  14. Gareth i'm operating on a very locked down laptop and can't install any software onto it to record or upload mp3s. I included the flip on one of the recent deep soul swaps if one of the recepients would help me out by uploading that would be great.
  15. There was a copy of sheperd bros on ebay between 12 to 24 months ago. That was the first time I have ever seen it or was aware it existed. It sounded very good as well. Sorry I can't help with your request these are the only 3 records I am aware of on this label.
  16. I can't play the clip (old laptop i'm badly in need of a new one) but the scan for the record looks very acceotable for the grade.
  17. any interest in this soul masterpiece ?

Yes that era, it was also included on one of the anniversary tapes. I think the 2nd anniversary ?
  19. Yes i'm sure that james knight has been pushed before. I picked it up after first hearing "baby please pretty please" on cat then going on to look for other stuff by him. Its a great record and has the latin vibe that seems in vogue now. So no reason why it couldn't go on to be a much more recognised and even more popular record than in the past. It seems quite obscure i've not seen loads of copies.
  20. Annette Snell "its all over / promisies should never be broken" Epic Ex 200GBP ---------SOLD--------------- fairly easy pick up as a double sided demo for 20 to 40GBP but how often do you see an issue ? this is for 2 reasons : 1 its rare and 2 the flip side is an awesome ballad verging on mid tempo. quite possibly the best record she ever made. by PM please if interested. tanks for looking, dylan
  21. I sold this on here middle of 2011 and always thought it was due some attention. my 2 tips are little beaver "i'm a man" cat david dee "every loving man" time both ripe for the rare soul scene.

kids now use "kills it" for when someting is realy good. my memories of "chick chick" getting played are from the dome in London.
  23. don gardner "somebodys gonna get hurt" is a brilliant beat ballad and for 13 quid is a bargain. The uptempo side is pretty good as well.
  24. not my copy but you can hear it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUBcBc1qPGE
  25. Little Beaver "I'm a man / don't let it end this way" Cat vg+ condition has some surface marks but plays great on i'm a man. The flip has very light noise on intro then plays clean also. The uptempo strutting southern side could be a massive scene spin if played by a progressive DJ. the flip is mid tempo magic and in the right venue at the right time could also get spins. 500GBP I have never seen this record aside from the copy I have and its far harder to find than his equally good saadia classic that sells for this price. Very rare record. paypal gift or bank transfer.
