Special Guests - 100 Club Northern Allnighter - Jan 28th
no pete likes it as well. I think its rubbish.

Sheridan's, Dewsbury
This is all news to me, I went to the first few lifelines but never realised things got so bad towards the end of the venues life. The stables is a better venue though IMO. Just right for an all nighter.

Joe Jama was covered as Little Henry because Henry Atkinson discovered it and sold it to Tim.

Price Of Records On Here
I agree, in a ideal word the best way to buy records would be physically face to face but sometimes it can be a hassle having to look after a box of records all night, unless the record bar is buzzing and lots of deals are taking place I've spent hours in record bars and find them good for a chat and to learn and listen. Also face to face you can probably negotiate better than by e-mail or PM.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
No i've still got it which is no bad thing. Will look to put out a small list later in the month and if something goes off that then this can be kept. Prehaps didn't sell because its not northern and that seems to be the main target audience on here. I have read a few comments about some unissued material that was going to go on an epic LP but i've never heard any of it.

Has butch had a rethink on retireing or just delayed the decision a bit ? will he be doing other UK gigs still as well as the 100 club ?

Common Labels/rare Records.?
I'd be interested to hear the opinions of people like Steve G on the annette snell issue on epic with "promises should never be broken" on the flip side. I did recently list it for sale and believe its a very hard issue to find so would be good to hear the views of a long time collector. Gareth commented he hadn't heard it so that tells me it must be pretty tricky.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
WOW !! To be honest I haven't been in the game of looking properly for a while now. BUt when I was looking I would've snapped your hand off at that price.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
Thats a brilliant record. I've never seen that for sale.
-
Common Labels/rare Records.?
We will have to disagree on that one. I've seen enough copies to convince me its not rare.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
can't disagree with you on those two I'm going to have to splash some cash on a new laptop soon this is driving me nuts

Common Labels/rare Records.?
I can't see youtube embedded links on this computer what are they ? And don't get me wrong i'd love a copy of sam williams as its a brilliant record but i'm not paying the kind of money it sells for. I have the deep soul flip on a small label and that is a seriously hard to find record but not the kind of thing being discussed here.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
sam williams on tower isn't a rare record IMO.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
I also think this version is better than Don Bryant.

You don't need to tell me that I have the record the rayons sing on the flip but I suspect you already know that.

Price Of Records On Here
It's just a reflection on record sales everywhere I don't see this place as any different good and bad prices on a regular basis. IMO If people are going to spend a lot of money on a record it should be because they love the record and have already spent a l0ot of time and effort looking for it. That way they can be reasonably sure its not an easy find. If you jump in feet first and spend big it doesn't deserve much sympathy.

Common Labels/rare Records.?
Prehaps not as rare as the 2 examplesd give but 2 on decca that i think are pretty rare. rayons "i'm giving up" and tony ashley "i'll go crazy" thety are actually consecutive label numbers as well and the tony ashley features the rayons on backing vocals.

Top Tips For 2012
just had a quick listen to sugar boy as I didn't know it and there seems to be a few ripples judging by the comments on here its received more than any other record mentioned. Its pretty good but not as good as the little beaver I mentioned not in the same league IMO. and i'm sure peggy babcock will love it that tempo is right up his street.

Annette Snell Epic Issue
Gareth i'm operating on a very locked down laptop and can't install any software onto it to record or upload mp3s. I included the flip on one of the recent deep soul swaps if one of the recepients would help me out by uploading that would be great.

Mojo Label From Atlanta
There was a copy of sheperd bros on ebay between 12 to 24 months ago. That was the first time I have ever seen it or was aware it existed. It sounded very good as well. Sorry I can't help with your request these are the only 3 records I am aware of on this label.

Guitar Ray On Ebay
I can't play the clip (old laptop i'm badly in need of a new one) but the scan for the record looks very acceotable for the grade.

Top Tips For 2012
Yes i'm sure that james knight has been pushed before. I picked it up after first hearing "baby please pretty please" on cat then going on to look for other stuff by him. Its a great record and has the latin vibe that seems in vogue now. So no reason why it couldn't go on to be a much more recognised and even more popular record than in the past. It seems quite obscure i've not seen loads of copies.
