  1. min ehas same matix scrathed in as msshoals (12 o'clock on LYSL and 6 o'clock on flip) but I doubt the different positionn means anything other than label put on at a different position. It also a small scratched symbol that might be initials but it is very hard to see exactly what it is ? this second mark is very small. brilliant record

wally coco does have a good dance beat I can';t deny that. my clay brown "WYWTC" has seen better days..... plays OK with the odd pop and click.

I can hazzard a guess as to who put callum onto it. sam played it at soul essence this year not sure its a 45 I get too excited about. Its OK but certainly not amazing. carleen and the groovers would be more my cup of tea if we are on carolins funk but thats far less likely to be played at a northern night.
  11. Jeter (Geater) Davis "where ever you are" Sunburst Ex 40GBP delivered Fantastic southern ballad by geater davis creditied as jeter davis. bargain for somebody. the pt II has a strange mark on the vinyl but it plays through perfectly. Its not scrathes more like a scuff that doesn't get into the grooves. No marks at all on the pt I side.

if you took the last sentance out your reply I think we are saying the same thing. Loads of southern is exactly what you have said in the first part. busy, brass, high excitement, funky drums, rhythm guitar. I wasn't realy suggestign the slower plodding type records. or is there funky northern and funky northern both which are very different its all just music to me.
  13. anybody..... deceptively hard to find.

funky northerrn = southern soul well in a lot of cases anyway.......
  15. benny latimore "i'm a believer / have a little faith" dade the dancefloor side "i'm a believer" is ex conditin and plays perfect right through. sadly the ballad flips skips 3 times once in the middle and twice near the end. Aside from the skips the is no background noise or crackle it plays clean. The skips don't cut out huge chunks of groove perhaps a couple of words in one case and a slight piece of the music in the other 2 cases near the end. asking 300GBP for this record which rarely appears for sale. Could be the rarest record he made and its certainly a brilliant soul record. by PM please if interested regards, dylan
  16. its not free between countries though is it ? I'm sure I paid a fee when I did a bank transfer to Italy ??

  19. the quality of soul music available on comps like this is a fantastic thing as people can learn about and hear the music without having to spend $$$

the suncut sounds a lot better produced and cleaner. i'd never found that flute annoying until now thanks for pointing that out. I do like the under produced more budget feel of the hit sound myself. but both are good.

when I first heard this in the mid 90s manship had a copy (or several) in stock for 60 quid. first valuation on here seems very high ?
  22. Dylan posted a post in a topic in Record Wants
Yes I have read that before. which one would you say is the best ? I don't think I have ever got an mp3 or CD with the suncut version. I had the hit sound and thought that version was good. But as I mainly focus on deep it obviously had to be hit sound for me.
