  1. bobby barnes "tomorrow i'll be gone / thankyou for loving me" poormans 200GBP including delivery. paypal gift preferred fantastic record 2 great sides. Heat it in refosoul. cheers, dylan
  2. whats the general opinion on value of this 45 ? the few copies i've seen of "never my love" on ebay have been between 40 and 60 quid but manship has it at 250 in the guide ? seems to be one of those that probably has a much higher book price that its cureent market value ? but a very good record either way......
  3. yes it does nev the mind boggles totally agree.
  4. well they aren't yet and I didn't say they are. but they will be soon all i',m saying is thats all they should be. Both are very common and virtually everybody has had or has therse records.
  5. is it the way ebay lets you search. I realy only use .com for searching for records. I don't think I even see records that are listed on .de .fr .co.uk etc etc ? also its much to general to say prices are coming down. just as many examples of records fetching top money. the records that are widely available will see the worst price drops IMO. for example things like lonnie lester "you can't go" realy should only be 20 quid. Sam Fletcher on Tolie should probably be not much mroe either as its incredibly common. jimmy tig selling for $600 in vg condition all be it the clip was very clean tells me that great and rare records are still fetching very good prices. but good bargains are there if you are patient
  6. crdit cards he hasn't even got a till !!
  7. has this been archived so we can listen now ? or is it real time only......
  8. Dylan posted a post in a topic in Record Sales
thats very cheap for something this rare and good. only seen 2 or 3 copies myself. Hardly ever turns up this one. I'd snap your hand off if I didn;t already have it.
  9. thre for sale all prices in GBP and include delivery. Paypalgift if possible please. Freeman Bros "life of love" Sprout 70GBP Ex quality down tempo side seems pretty obscure. Willie Cooper "you don't love nobody / I can't take it no more" Whiz 60GBP ex condition 2 class sides but there is a lot of bass in the recording it needs knocking down a bit on the mixer IMO. Are they all like this ? EJ & Echoes "I had a hard time / you're gonna hurt" Diamond Jim 175GBP vg+ some marks on vinyl but plays fine. 2 great sides one uptempo and one mid. cheers, dylan
  10. john manship springs to mind if you want to sell a collection fast..... also if he' got good 500GP records its lttle effort for a big reward just listing them one by one. the james bell in the piture would fetch a good price and there must be plenty more of that quality by the sounds of it.
  11. thats a good story.
  12. might it be a bit rare then ? it does seem to be one of those 45s that people have a lowish valuation between 20 and 40 quid but as you say it doesn't show up too often now.
  13. I responded to a want today convinced I had the record then when I went to look for it I realised it had gone. luckily no harm done but it could have been embarrasing. so how well organised are you all ? do you know all the records you have etc etc and how to find them ? I had all mine on a spreadsheet on my old laptop but it died and its too big a task to do it all again. some of the records are sorted alphabetically but also a big chunk still to do.
  14. 1 record for offer Herman George "It breaks me up inside" Nimrod ex cond copy of a great downtempo soul track. Almost crossover ? 90GBP delivered. cheers, dylan
  15. a sweeping generalisation but I think the higher % of quality deep soul appears on thr flip of the gritty funky stuff than the more traditional northern stuff. now i've set myself up for a whole set of examples that can prove me wrong.......
  16. prehaps not identical but certainly very similar after another listen.
  17. same backing track is used on both if I remember right ? BC and I'm the man
  18. is that "innocent bystander" you are talkign about on note ? I do remember that being pretty good and have it on CD somewhere. the shout 45 is odd as its from new york and he recorded his other stuff on small georgia labels. does the shout 45 get much northern soul action ? its catchy and I could see it might dancefloor apeal. Both sides are equally strong dancers. actually just picked that up myself looked for it a long time ago then stopped. Then it came up in a conversation and one became available. This thread has certainbly gone of on a tangent....
  19. sorry you are all correct and i am wrong. richard marks is the best and barabara hall "broken hearted" is rubbish. so if any of you find a copy you won't mind selling it to me so what about those missing numbers.......
  20. so what are the missing numers then ? below from georgia soul shows a few numbers missing.... 001 Richard Marks - Home For the Holidays (Mother's Wish For Christmas) / Mr. Santa Claus (Santa Claus Helping Hand) 101 Richard Marks - Funky Four Corners / Part 2 102 Barbara Hall - Lookin' For My Baby / Tell Me, Tell Me, Tell Me / ? 103 The Grace Gospel Singers - Jesus Will Lead the Way / Let This Traveler Inew 104 Buddy Cantrell - Why Did You Leave Me? / You Ain't No Good 105 Richard Marks - I'm the Man For You / Cracker Jack 106 Barbara Hall - Broken hearted / Big Man 110 Bill R. Wright - Everything Looked Good Ain't Good / Instrumental 112 Richard Marks - Did You Ever Lose Something / Never Satisfied 113 Barbara Hall - Humanity / The Doll (by Richard Marks & the Minors 115 Jimmy Tig & the Tig Family - Everybody's Laffing / Brainstorm Jimmy Thorpe - Don't Let My Love Go Away
  21. the crazy world of northern soul
  22. I still need to hear "humanity" so can't comment on that one.....
  23. I thought it was OK but didn't get too excited when I heard it. her other dancers on the other tuska release are better IMO.
  24. and almost always now listed for the very average uptempo side
  25. quite right but i don't think a few words by me on here will effect my chances of getting barbara hall cheap or reasonably priced now after years of looking. plenty of others to buy instead
