I was fully expecting the john anderson had it for 10p comment. I bet this applies to a frightening number of todays big money records. i've only been collecting for 12 or so years so can only commewnt on more recent prices for items. wish I was collecting early 80s.....

I used to see it listed regularly for 300 not that long ago. 600 does seem excessive.

so i'm not totally out of touch on this one then I was thinking it might have been time for me to sell..... sticking with the flamingos the polydor release "lover come back" seems to book high but can still be had cheap on ebay well worth picking up i'd say. In fact one recently went through ebay for $4 start and got no bids. Should have had it as a spare for that price.

I got this given to me only a couple of months ago is it realy worth 50 quid ? its is good but thats a lot. I would have said its a solid 10 quid record no more.

do you have the benny latimore "i'm a believer" worth looking out for as its a great double sider. sorry I can't help with a full discog.

certainly not aimed at you ady just a general comment. as for a few white lies to protect a project you are working on thats totally understandable. i've learnt a lot from your kent CD sleeve notes always enjoyed them.

contact the guy and explain what you do for a living. You might be able to work out some kind of a deal with him

try to resist the temptation of buying the first copy you see of a want unless it is cheap offcourse. If its expensive chances are another cheaper copy will be along soon enough.... i'm sure we have all made this mistake of jumping in try and only buy records where you have a good idea of value / rarity. ebay is best place to buy plenty of bargains on there. also gemm can be a good place to check.

or cash in prehaps ? if its sat on the shelves and its going for a lot of money no better time to sell is there....

probably not mega rare but pep brown "is it all over" issue with the different flip is also quite hard to find. I think there might be a few tough poyldor issues out there.

if you have swine flu or any kind of illness last thing you are going to be fussed about is goign on computer and reading e-mails. all i'd want to do is watch TV and feel sorry for myself. a 20 quid record sale would be the least of my concearns. It would have to wait until I was feeling better. but its all turned out well and that is most important thing here.

I had the smokey it credited "swept" but played "come spy" were they all like that or did it eventually get correct labels ? only got 70 quid for mine the only othet tmg that i've done quite well with was hit pack so thought one of those numbers mentioned might have been that ? I assume its one of the harder to find out the numbers. Person I sold it to only needed hit pack and one other for the full run.

what artist and title are 514v and 506. and what was this smokey is it the one with the wrong pressed b side ? cheers.

there is now an update at sirshambling statoing his current situiation so the person who found him mnight be able to find out if there is another 45. he could have done another 45 with more tracks of the new sounds LP. i've never even heard anybody suggest this though ? but andy would be one of the people most likely to know.

I only know 2 but there might be another ? there is one by melvin lewis who was also in new sounds that is documented @ sirshambling i'm sure i've miised quite a few on ebay I don't watvch it as closely as some people do. I just drop on it from tiem to time and see what is available.

thanks for posting this was the only one of the four sides I still hadn't heard yet. pretty good has the boucy almost "my girl" style bassline and nice lrics. I have to say the flip is much better to my ears. I remember seeeing this on ebay when "sweet memories" was going big on the scene and thinking i'd grab it cheap but it sold for a lot of money
