  1. Foreign language Northern Foreign slant Let's Go Down To the Real Nitty Gritty how many foreign language Northernsoul tracks are there? I understand that Motown released a few for French, Italian and Spanish markets, is this true? Are there cover versions in a different tongue and can we hear them? How many originally released none English language is there? I know a German track "mien lebling ist wunderbar" sorry if this is the wrong title and spelling? It was always played on the scooter scene in Germany and I remember "Down Town" sang in German (not Northern I know) ">

  5. My favorite days! After the Casino and before the born again's, me and Mick "Scotty" Scott where giving it large almost every three weeks, doesn't sound much that but at the time there weren't hat many nighters on. If my memory serves this was also before the soul nights started as well? It was great to have been there and part of the "second wave", this was my Wigan Casino! It wasn't one place but a migrating small bunch of night time people just being naughty in our own way and still managing to do the family and career thang, well most of us did! Bensons had closed by 88, I can't remember if Queens Hall was still going with The Big E Z? Great memories Did we all have wedge hair cuts then?

If a genuine warehouse find happened with say a thousand mint copies of this track that where verified as 100% kosher, what would happen to the value of our little Sun followed disk? Would "ours" remain a slice of Northernsoul history and retain its value or would it be rendered valueless due to the thousand mint ones? Does its 'story' and journey give it some value, I know the interest value would be there but what would be the impact on such a find? Some thing is only ever worth as much as some one is willing to pay for it, the old glass of water in a desert?
  8. Many moons ago my son was into Pokemon cards and we sat together searching for a good deal on e-bay. Zak, my son was a ninja on these cards and new all of the characters backwards. We saw a pack containing some cards he wanted at a reasonable price and paid for them via paypal. One week later they arrived and I gave them to my youngest in his first ever packet, he was nine at the time and he had waited patiently for this item to come. He opened them in front of me and it was the first time that I had ever seen him holding back tears, they where nothing like the description! We contacted the seller and he pointed out a small print that was hidden in a surge of information stating that this was an example of what we may get. I know this was legal but immoral and told him that he had broken the heart of a very young boy and that he should be ashamed of him self. We received an e-mail from another e-bayer from the states telling us that the person selling these cards did this type of thing all the time. A week later my son received nearly a thousand Pokemon cards from the states from this kind e-bayer, mega! Moral of the story, trust but in whom beware, that's my family motto by the way. E-bay is great some times but there are some sharks out there but also some exellent people!

  21. I have the album and here is my opinion so far, remember its just my opinion! DeRobert & the Half-Truths - Fallin' In Debt The production on here is quite clean and fresh with the lead vocals reminding me a little of James Brown minus the screeching! Not bad and quite danceable. The Fantastics - Chicken Lickin' (Live) Loads of "Shaftesque" guitars and a crazy horn section with its Blacksploitation drum breaks, a bit noisy and cluttered for my ear and I can't ever see this coaxing any one onto the dance floor less you are a student with a blue drink in a bottle. Big Joe Louis & Soul Investigators - Go-Go Train Cool! Toe tapper a little bit of blues getting a funky riddum! Love the vocals and the organ. Karachi Prison Band - Put Some Grit In It (Part 1) I am not a big funk fan and this kinda reminds me of either a Starsky n Hutch chase or a bad porno CD I picked up in Bosnia! The Funk Revolution - Izzy Come, Izzy Go Reggae meats The Streets of San Francisco it has a Hammond organ break and tries hard but I cant get away from that seventies American cop TV theme? The Qualitons - One Man Song Sixties bass and organ again, not too bad and very English Mod. I like this track but it aint a dancer. Mauri Bailey - Soul Pop Now this is the Starsky n Hutch theme! The Neapolitans - Hakusha Love it! Cool creamy and jazzy! Floating pipes and an understated and reserved bass line. Love the flute not quite the Al Foster Band - Night of The Wolf but it aint supposed to be aint it! Tynnes Well & The Magic Fountains - Stop The Madness Love this one as well, mature production and a good horn section let down a little by the vocals The Unstoppable S. Robinson & Marvelaires - Humpin' Like it, unassuming dancer with a good beat that doesn't need to over state its self, bit repetitive some what but kind to the ear never the less. Ben Martin Trio - Brasil No.7 Almost skankin here! Not a good dancer but an interesting piece.
