  1. I just uploaded some pictures from my Chicago trip last year + New York 1992 and the Southport Weekender 1990. You'll also see a few old faces from the soul scene on show too. Check the GALLERY section at www.independentmovement.co.uk Will hopefully have more pictures + 400 record ads & gig posters uploaded next week. Enjoy !
  2. Nice one Karl, I hope all's well in chi-town. I will make a trip over once I get a job sorted. Thanks Val, lots more mixes to come, glad you're enjoying them. Hey Buey, its been a long time mate, hope you're well. Just shout us if you wanna know about a particular track, I should be able to help. All the Best Mark
  3. Just wanted to mention my new site that's still under development but has a few features for you to check out including news of our next party with Rahaan & Sadar in July. We have about a dozen mixes up featuring Marco Santucci, Keb Darge (entertaining as ever), Paul Phillips and many more to come. No forum just music and info but please check in regulary as I have about 300 music ads and tons of pictures to load up that I think you'll enjoy. https://www.independentmovement.co.uk Many Thanks Mark

haha very true Simon and it was Kiss FM. The first thing Paul P said to me when I met him for the first time a few years ago.

Mark - That was my Marshal copy, it went for £2000 and its no longer in our friends posession. I wish I still had a few of them records I sold via your good self.
  8. Nice site Sir, I will check in from time to time.
  9. Last one I saw (a year ago at soul essence) was for sale at £75.

    The OJays
  11. Mr Peabody's may have copies, I bought mine from them for $20.
  12. Thanks them, cheers for listening. Here's the tracklist for this round - Rivage 'Strung Out On Your Love' Dennis Coffey 'Free Spirit' Moses 'I Got My Mind Together' Luv You Madly Orchestra 'Moon Maiden' Charles Earland 'Over And Over' Alma Faye Brooks 'Don't Fall In Love' Eugene Smiley 'Yes It's You' Target 'Give Me One More Chance' My previous round (and better) mix with Split Decision Band, Solid Gold Revue etc will be posted back online at bringtheheat over Christmas and New Year. Sean posts all the contestants mixes around this time of year.
  13. The Semi Finals of the BTH mix battles have now begun. Due to a last minute rush and Hi-Fi failure my mix technically is abismal but I've included a few modern soul classics (Rivage, Target etc). Registered members cannot vote but you can still hear all of the 30min sets. Mixes can be found at www.bringtheheat.com - Enjoy !
  14. Hey Ivor, good to see you on sunday. You couldn't go to a soul do in the south of england in the late 8ts without hearing Flowers and Melvin Moore. This used to get right on my thrupenny bits.
  15. 'Stay Sweet' was the only track I ever played off this album.
  16. Keb has a few alternate mixes from their vault. He gave me a blast of them back in January but I don't know what's being released.
  17. Luv You Madly Orchestra 'Moon Maiden' On the quirky disco vibe...superb stuff.
  18. I always prefered the flip 'Don't Stop Me Now'.
  19. Quite a hard one to get on 12". My good friend Jeremy Newall has a copy and he is without a doubt the biggest expert around on this label.
  20. This is an essential buy for everyone on this site just for the flip 'Facts Of Life'....an absolute cracker !
  21. I remember when Mark Lesner was knocking these out for £30 20years ago at Chris Bangs' Boscombe Weekender. This record got hammered to death in the 8t's along with Flowers etc. It drove me up the wall hearing these records time after time so I got rid of mine. I don't regret it one bit although I did have an alcohol induced dance to it at Herminio and Alfredo's excellent do in Oviedo. I never get bored of Target though.
  22. The album and the 12" are relatively easy to pick up.

Don't know that one. I have LaJohn & Sheela 'Too Far Gone/Every Body's Problem' MT-9027 which is well worth picking up. Don't think I have anything else on this label.
  24. Very True....never got to have a spin in John's Maserati though (that's what he was driving last time I was there many moons ago).
  25. Likewise, but I think you and Graham were ahead of me in the queue.
