A youth culture left in the hands of old men'

The circumstances which drove its establishment and evolution are long gone aren’t they, e.g. youth, exclusivity and genuine excitement - the unavailability of good enough and largely affordable new ‘discoveries’ is a killer but how could that not happen? When I venture out these days I see old people in the main who, for the most part anyway, are enjoying a bit of a social and / or re-living former ‘glories’. There’s an inevitability about it all and, tbh, we’ve eked it out for far longer than we might reasonably have expected. We’re not what we were though and it’s not what it was, not even in the same ballpark. Hasn’t been for thirty years. Personally, it feels like those who really grew up on the 80s scene have the least affinity with most of what’s out there now. Sad, but just how it is. You’ve just gotta take what you can out of what’s on offer I suppose - there are elements of pure comedy gold for sure, while some of it makes you wanna weep because it still REALLY matters to you. Just try not to get too hung up about it too often. Cheers Phil

		Don and Ron SOLD

Another genuine rarity up for grabs. Condition is pretty much M- although there is a feint ring on the label as you can see. This has always been dog rare and never turns up these days, especially in this condition £1000 (no offers thanks) Cheers Phil

		Primers SOLD

Very reluctant sale of this monster dancer and genuine mega rarity but needs must. Some XOL as you can see but it's a nice copy which I'd grade conservatively as a really strong vg+ at least (It plays Ex without any issues whatsoever) £1750 Cheers Phil

		Howard tate You're Lookin' Good

Alan Good and rare-ish record but not easy to sell in my experience. I’d say 250 gives you a fighting chance if you’re looking to move it on but 200 might be more realistic. (It’s rarer than things fetching significantly more these days though) Atb Phil

Take your pick from pretty much anything between 65-75. Every Christmas you’ve gotta play ‘one little Christmas tree’ repeatedly though, it’s the law. Absolute genius

Tasty Sales Informers, Saxie Russell, W Kendrick issue

Need to raise some funds so have to sell the following unfortunately. All very strictly graded, money back no probs of course. Paypayl F&F preferred but bank transfer also fine. I'll do SD on anything over £100 otherwise postage at cost Informers - (why did you give me such) a hard way to go / baby set me free (Blackjack J-1402) M- £900 SOLD Seriously rare of course. Two fantastic sides, plus its the best condition copy I've ever seen. Saxie Russell - psychedelic soul (Thomas white demo) Ex+ £400 Small felt tip black x and v small biro date on label otherwise VERY tidy indeed and rare on a white demo Willie Kendrick - change your ways (RCA Issue) Ex £750 HOLD WHAT a record and the issue looks fantastic. The odd VERY light mark dnap; really nice copy Icemen - I wonder what it takes / (my girl) she's a fox (SAMAR) M- £100 Absolute banger backed with flip as smooth as you like Vince Apollo - I bear witness - can't turn my back (Pentagon) M- £275 Again, two great sides and immaculate condition Gerri Taylor - empty arms and bitter tears (Constellation w/demo) M- £150 Fantastic, upbeat Chicago dancer which has yet to have its day. Edward Hamilton - weep + 2

Three goodies still up for grabs. All described in detail and strictly graded. Money back of course if you're at all unhappy. PM if interested Cheers Phil George Hughley - that's why I cry (Buddah) M- £100 Immaculate copy and a bargain IMHO Johnny Summers - is the feeling still there (Audio Forty w/d) vg+ (see description) £125 Totally superior version of Remarkables. Rare record and an absolutely fantastic one which should be huge IMHO. Play this at +2 and be blown away by a rumbling, LA dancer with b*llocks. Thing is, there's a mark which sounds for 2/3 of the record unfortunately. You can hear it for sure but its not an absolute spoiler and price reflects condition. That one mark / noise aside, it'd be M- and £300+. Really playable copy for less than 1/2 price for someone then; bargain! Edward Hamilton & the Arabians - baby don't you weep (Mary Jane) Ex+ £450 TOP oldie in great condition. Mike Terry credit, Nashville M stamped. Seems to be £500+ these days, not here though. SOLD Jades - hotter than fire / moovin' and groovin' (Cherry Red) M- £150 Two bangers in bang tidy condition. Always thought this was harder than people believed and should defo be played out more than it is. Sammy Campbell - I never thought (I'd find anybody like you) (Queen City) VG++ £200 Looks nice and tidy (Ex at least) but does have a bit of low-level background noise. Never had another so can't say whether it's a pressing thing. Not overpowering or an absolute spoiler and I've played it out over the years without complaint. Price reflects more than fairly I think; a great record that's still to have it's day really. Incredibles - miss treatment (Audio Arts) M- £175 100% floorpacker in beautiful condition Edwin Starr - my kind of woman / you're my mellow (Ric Tic) Ex+ £200 Two unbelievable sides oozing Solid Hitbound genius. 'Mellow' has a 1/2 sec hiss right at the VERY start otherwise totally immaculate. Pretty much every copy I've seen over the years looked like a dog'd had it. You won't see a cleaner one than this.
