Yes indeed. He's fabulous live. Saw him one time at the Band on the Wall and had a chat to him after. His accent was almost undecipherable! His hands are massive, which I guess is handy for a pianist. His autobiography - Under a Hoodoo Moon: The Life of Dr John the Night Tripper is some read. He was a rum lad when he was younger.

I am very happy that Laut FM Soul Allnighter seems to be functioning once again, it had been off air for ages and I had really missed it. It has a really good mix of classics and less well known sides. It very often reminds me of stuff I had forgotten about as well as introducing me to stuff that had completely passed me by. Currently playing Ann Hodge - You're Welcome Back; which is lovely for a Sunday morning.

This is competing with the Contours - Just a Little Misunderstanding compilation for best CD of 2014. If you haven't bought it yet, you definitely should.

The facebook northern soul thing seems to be suggesting this is an impending Kent Select 45. What a tune this is! Can anybody confirm this please?

Personal preference would be for a dedicated instrumental CD with 7's for the best of the bunch, but I guess it's hard to judge what the demand would be and which would generate the best return. I'm happy to get them in any format you can put them out on! The approach you take with Kent (vinyl and subsequently CD) compilations has always worked for me. I have bought the lot and will always do so. I guess you'll need to work out what people whose anorak hoods are less zipped up will buy.

Then you should jolly well stop being blasé about them Mr Croasdell. If you have them, you really should let us at them.

My daughter and her mates from Uni are going to that one, sorry!

This is just awesome. I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that so many of these exist and have been kept so quiet. Surely stuff of this quality deserves a commercial release?

Don't know about a 7" but I have it on a 1979 12" One side is "LP version" the other is "New version". Cheers John
