OK Guys i think i may just be able to recount my story behind the 7 Dwarfs Stop Girl on Ideal .I Think i have the dates right but was 13 and the record was a popular youth club spin during 1978 79 when it was a casino play.I ordered a copy from a mail order list and it arrived about 2 weeks later.i was shocked when i saw the copy as it was very thin vinyl thinner than any of my other records. So i took it round to my older casino regular mates house to compare it with his copy.As soon as he saw it he laughed and said thats a crap pressing Patto sling it and ill get you a copy like mine for 75p .His copy was on nice thick vinyl. So i gave him the 75p and threw my copy onto his parents coal fire and watched it curl up and melt. Some 20 years later when the internet came to the fore i realised that the one i threw on the fire was very likely the original copy and the replacement i had was the Boot.So i have tried for years to rectify it and get a real one.So far i have bought 3 off ebay which all claimed to be original but had to be sent back.I have aked every one who has a copy to check and they have all turned out to be the boots.I have seen 2 real ones played by DJs and seen 4 real ones for sale.I missed em all by hours.Last one i missed just before Christma as i was skint buying pressies. So im after one.A decent playable original.A Deffo original with details as per Manship below. Please PM me if you have one for sale to a loving home.I have Some nice trades that can go as well. But cash waiting for a fair priced copy. To paraphrase John Manship -one of the World's most respected NS dealers: The originals have moulded on labels on very thin 'flexible' vinyl. deadwax details: etched in matrix 1168A (no gaps). The top circle on the 8 is lopsided and larger than the bottom circle with what appears to be a triangle attached to it. Hold the 1168A in the six o'clock position and there is an etched in upside down F/W in the 11 o'clock position. Unless these details are in the deadwax it is a counterfeit. Apart from the above being missing, the counterfeit is also distinguished by 1168 A (gap between the 8 and A) and more importantly the composer credits Dame Francis - the e at the end of Dame is smudged - on the original the e is crisp and clean
  13. A Top Soulie and a Top man.Very familiar face on the scene during the 80s and 90s.A Very well liked guy one of the very best of the Donny soulies.
  14. Ian ithink that both 113 and 120 were both released in 1964 but 113 was the first by just a few months. Both originals i would say the 120 stars design is a bit harder to find and seems to fetch more

Ok We have all seen some fantastic Northern soul dancers on the scene and i'm sure we can all name several from every region. But My Nomination would be the Guy they simply called Soulie, think his mame was Mark Allis from Peterborough. Not seen him on the scene for several years now.He has featured on you tube clips of Cleethorpes weekender dance comps which are now sadly not available to view.He could do the lot .As i say many dancers have impressed me but SOULIE left me Transfixed and for me was tops.
