  1. Lou Pride...........that narrows it down a bit.... Proper soul..... ....got well hammered at Prestatyn too...
  2. You'll need to narrow it down a bit Mark ..........plenty of great soul tunes from 2002.. Have you got an audio clip .... ?
  3. Another mixed bag of across the board soul, and more bargains to be bagged. Most of the 45s listed I'm selling for a mate, and so not an awful lot of room for price haggling, especially on the rarer items, though offers may be considered.... Usual deal on condition grading - all graded as VG++ are in great condition, not the usual beaten up quality that VG++ usually gets you from eBay... PM to reserve or request sound files, information etc. Toni and The Showmen - Try My Love - Ten Star Ex 350 Great uptempo soul made for the dance floor.... Life - Tell Me Why - Reprise Ex slight warp, plays perfectly 125 Great 70's soul picking up revival spins....so rare on a stock copy.. Diane Lewis - Without Your Love / Giving Up Your Love - Wand DJ VG+ 200 Fantastic Detroit soul double sider, and one of the rarer Wand 45s.. Johnny Robinson - Gone But Not Forgotten - OKeh WD Ex 300 One of the classiest 60's sides from the label...Mike Terry, Don Mancha, Freddie Gorman made it that way..great deep flip too.. Sons Of Moses - Soul Symphony - Soft VG++ 50 Classic instrumental on the original Texas label Harold Burrage - Master Key - M-Pac VG++ 45 Great early Chicago....not often seen for sale... Chuck Wright - Love I Won't Be A Fool Anymore - Ember WD VG++ 75 The far more soulful version IMO.. 4th Kingdom - Gotta Get To You - Congress of Racial Equality Ex 100 Great crossover soul from J R Bailey and Ken Williams...hard on this label.. Ruby Winters - In The Middle Of A Heartache - Diamond DJ M- 40 Great soul....one of her least know and harder to find 45s.. The Ambassadors - Too Young For Me - Fleet VG++ 120 Great group rare soul..... The Huns' Review Featuring The Soul Brothers - Don't Make Me Love You - Sorro VG++ 300 Storming Northern that's now getting much deserved plays... The Headlines - He's Looking For A Love - Luau VG++ 400 Awesome group Northern that's still filling dance floors... Frances Nero - Keep On Lovin' Me - Soul VG++ 100 The Theo-Coff Invasion - Lucky Day - Dearborn VG+ 50 Classic Detroit instrumental.... Ben Monroe - Broken Home - Dakar M- 20 Why this isn't played out, I'll never know - top quality 70's Rena Scott - We Can Make It Better - Buddah WD M- 40 Absolutely brilliant modern soul...Mtume & Lucas '79......this is a very hard to find tune... Cheers..

The Looney Tunes "beep beeps" are meant to be there, the lyrics include "road runner"...
  5. Wrongcrowd replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Is it Lee Andrews & The Hearts...."Quiet As It's Kept"....
  6. Tony Clarke "Landslide"..........on promo!!! If you get offered two let me know, I've only ever seen one copy. It's hard enough on a real issue. Good luck... Cody Black....I think it's only the West coast styrene copies that were issued on WD, otherwise the Detroit press copies are blue.

Any chance of an audio clue......
  8. Ady, if it's a copy of "No Fun Being Alone" you need. I can lend you mine. Drop me a PM with mailing details......
  9. You need the rarer version by Revelation...different title and arrangement....and err..lyrics...
  10. You're right Pete, it's real enough... Easy to get confused though...

On a respect scale Joan, you're stratospheric.....and then there's the other end of the scale..you know, the one's that know f'all, but like to pretend they do and get very frustrated by it all....

    Don't go there......

..............Breaking news ....."collector" wakes up to smell the coffee...........value determined by demand !!!...

Don't know what dictionary you use, but maybe you should check. If you don't like naive, then maybe inexperienced, immature or green might suit your comment...........anyhow it's good to see that good, honest, intelligent debate still lives.... I didn't call you extremely naive....just your comment.......if you're gonna post questions, expect answers...some of which you might not like.......taking things little too personally could be another sign of immaturity...

Full marks for the most condescending, back-slapping, jingoistic and almost entirely incorrectly stated thread on this site in a very long time.

Sorry, but that sounds exteremely naive to me. You're not giving collectors any credit in their own ability to determine rarity and value ('cos they are usually very different) through experience. I doubt that many collectors on here rely entirely upon statements made by dealers on rarity. If you know, you know. If you don't then find out, and confirm before you commit $$'s.
  17. 21:00 - 23:00 Modern Soul with Dean Anderson - https://www.boundarysound.co.uk/ Dean's stepping in to cover the Modern Soul Show tonight, and he's roped in guests - Cliff Steele and Kitch to play soul tunes from '70 to '09........expect something different.........and count on it being quality....

According to the booklet with the Ol' Virgina Soul - Part1 CD, they were a group oh high school girls that won a local talent competion and got the attention of Frank Guida.....the notes only give their first names as Madeline, Jeanette, Evelyn and Pat...so not much help...though according to the notes they disbanded soon after recording "There He Is" / "I'm Not Satisfied"..
  19. LP only as far as I know unless there's a Europen 45 around. It's on the EMI/Starline LP 1971.....noted as previously unissued. Solid album worth picking up.........
  20. How refreshing...........
  21. ....and I thought I could trust you to keep things secret.......you're as bad as Chunky...
  22. Sam definitely played Earl White Jr at Stafford, together with Robin and Adam, and I'm quite sure Dave Thorley too, so a few copies were around at the time. 20 years on though, I think it is a genuinely scarce 45 nowadays, and I can't recall seeing copies on eBay; I've just checked Popsike to find no no copies listed. Having said that, I'm very surprised to see it offered for over a grand..... , but far more "rare" 4 figure 60's 45s are a lot easier to find than Earl White...it's a matter of perspective.. Quality tune though...........
  23. Yep, I know it...........but can't think what it is.....I'll get back when the memory lapse leave me... Looked like a storming night....
  24. Latest position on Volumes : Highest bid now stands at 150....
