How Does Your Other Half View......... Soul
Towanda and the Total Destruction "Wear your natural baby" is as far as it stretches Shep, after that forget it mate, in fact I think she looks at it with a bit of contempt, like she does my other great love Football, the amount of times she said "well why can,t you sell one of them records" my reply will always be the same though,"they were here before I met you, you,re out first", she is out at the moment so the bravado levels have raised. She has seen me jive a few times and was not very complimentary "Stiff arse" was the term used. Still, with that insult reverberating around my ears, the pull of the music is far too much for her to cause a stir, oh f--- She,s back, better get back to the gardeners world website. Kev

Most Emotionally Charged Soul Record
Absolutely Sean, I think "Please take me back" is the clincher, and as you state with "How big is big" on t,other side, what a double sider, was Lee Jones with them Sean last year, was gutted when they did Prestatyn a couple of years ago and the top man was missing, although having said that they were still great but maybe a little bit of seeing the Temps without David Ruffin or Paul Williams type of feeling came over me. I asked one of the other members of the group where he was and I was told he was a truck driver now, tears you up when you here shite singers making fortunes and this amazing talent having to hit the road to make a living. Best Regards Sean Kev

Got two from Rob Marriot, one in 1988 including:- Alternate version of Bernard Williams-Needless to say Debonairs-Please come back baby Hytones-Bigger and better New Wanderers-Aint gonna do you no harm " " " - Let me render my service to you Young Bros-Whats your game " " " -Baby Jackey Beavers-Love that never grows old Gentlemen Four-You can,t keep a bood man down Bobby Kline-Both sides Dynamic 3-She said yes Fascinators-In other words Cleveland Wilson-I,m shooting high and a record by The Limelights-Can,t say no to my baby which I think was an unissued thing that was absolutely brilliant, Does anyone know what happened to it cos I,ve heard nothing of it since. Second tape about 1992 including The Sweets-Something bout my baby Sandy Golden-When we,re all alone Alternative Professionals-Thats why I love you Tranells-I,m Blessed with a love (Philadelphians) and loads of other tremendous things (can,t get it back off Gaz Simon) including a tremendous crossover thing called I think "Baby don,t you do it" I have lost the listing but I think it was another unissued thing like the Limelights. I think there was some debate about it a while back but does anyone know what happened to it, would sound magnificent played out nowadays. Kev

"de-rarified" Over The Years Thru Ebay ?
Could be stating the obvious here, but I remember many moons ago, at the birth of the internet, Rod Dearlove stating to the effect of that it would blow the whole thing wide open (record trading). Its certainly made the world substantially smaller so if you consider when you had to buy all of those record collectors magazines (Discoveries etc) and read every word printed in them as to leave no stone unturned in the hope of finding something, now is all you have to do is click a mouse, easier for the seller and the buyer, the result being perhaps far less stuff hidden away. Kev Oh does Bobby Kline "Say something nice" fit the criteria cos I remember a time when there was a few kicking about, or was it the same copies being sold and resold

Lp's Vs 45's
Well said my friend, somebody saying they are only interested in 45,s are only interested in the novelty, not the search for killer soul, in soul perspective what is the thinking of someone turning down for example The Hesitations "Born Free" set cos they aint interested in albums. Kev

Mancha Or Davis Best Version?
Hi Mark, its a tough one, very tough, in fact its a photo finish with Melvin just getting there first, now to complicate matters, what do people think of the unissued David Ruffin version in comparison, anyone not heard it, well its all your imagination can muster and more, that same essential Detroit backing with Ruffin taking no prisoners, a gem, anyone else have an opinion ? Kev
