Kane Dingle
Yes - Sean McLuskey. Also ran the Sensible Soul nites with Craig Brick and Paul Guntrip. Sean also did the here-and-there spot at the 100 Club between 1984 - 1988. Decent bloke to chat to.

Ebay Descriptions You Hate
I use that, and there's no way I'm going to change it after 5 years!

Cheers for that Ernie. I understand blocked bidder - but "bottom feeder"????? The plot thickens!

Ebay Descriptions You Hate
In short Ern, it means he has thrown his dummy out of his pram, and made the vindictive move of blocking you from his auctions, since you probably did the right thing by confronting him about rip-off postage rates (my pet hate on Ebay). Who was it?

Do You Plan To Keep Your Rare 45s Forever?
Very good point Baz. As far as my soul records go, I've advised my wife to consult a key soul dealer (no name mentioned) to sell them either for 50% profit, or commission, in case I kicked the bucket first. Hopefully, by the time I go, there will still be a collector's market! As far as my other records go, it would be such a shame to see them end up in a house clearance. I'd prefer my family (particularly my nephews) to go through them first, taking what they want, hopefully sussing what's rare and what's not!

Hence the diagnosis of Vinylitis, or Vinyphilia?

Do You Plan To Keep Your Rare 45s Forever?
I plan to keep most of my rare 45s for sheer love of them, and sentiment. I would sooner die and leave them, rather then sell them. The only way I'd part with any of them is if I got stupidly heavy in debt, and wanted to keep the bailiffs away from my front door. Or, of course, if I got really bored and fed up with any of them, but the chances of that happenning are fairly unlikely.

What Tunes In Your Opinion Would Work At A Student Night?
When I, and a few others, did a series of soul nites at Woolwich Poly in 1984, most of the requests were for Pink Floyd! Buggered if I'm playing any of that just to keep them sweet!

Neptunes/girl That's An Awful Thing-gem Wdj
Thanks Steve and Baz! Good news - now just awaiting for it to arrive in the post! Truth be told, I would never have known about this it it hadn't been for Dave Greenhill who asked me to play a clip of it for him off the Soul Club Jukebox a year and a half ago. A few weeks later, lucky so-and-so found a copy, and I'd been looking for it ever since........until now, that is! Dave will continue to play this at Solid Hit Soul, whilst I shall spin it any chance I get elsewhere.........that is, if I can pull it off my home turntable!

Frank Popp Ensemble - Hip Teens Don't Wear Blue Jeans
Dont take it so personally.........it wasn't a dig at you. Merely my opinion on the track, and not a character assasination by any means. No need to get so defensive over a Frank Popp record (or any record for that matter), is there? Appreciate you dancing to my records at SHS, and also your support, but my old pic and peaches......................and your point is?? No, it's not sour grapes that I only got £18 for mine last year!

Fluffs Forgotten Oldie Of The Day
Hi Pete, The HMV 45 is "If You Don't Know What Love Is", released on HMV in 1964. The Broadmoor single is "Work my Way Up Steady", released at the end of 1967.

I used to play this record on my Nad hi-fi system when I first had it..............now I'm convinced it sounds better on a Bush!

Fluffs Forgotten Oldie Of The Day
There's a better side by him, "Sick and Tired" which is sadly ignored. OK, it was a UK Top 20 hit in 1958, but an excellent Soul/RNB dancer all the same.

Little Richard - Lucille
On a first sighting, I could have sworn the female presenter was Cathy McGowan - if so, what the hell is she doing spouting fluent German? At the end of the clip, it looked more like Judith Durham from the Seekers! Another interesting point - I know nothing about this track, other than that there is an unissued freakbeat version of this (Can't Stop The Want I Got For You Babe) by an unknown artist on Purple Heart Surgery, Volume 1. Love to know more about this version................

Well....it was 1966, about 30 years before depilation became fashionable! Wonder if Marc Bolan gained inspiration for recording Debora backwards from here? Cracking clip though - love it! Really arty.
