    The Vaults Beat Club

Please note we are at The Victoria Vaults, 47 - 49 Nunnery Lane, York YO23 1AB Resident DJ's: Jay Cee (Jason Chinnian) [There Was A Time / Flipside / The Waterfront Blues & Soul Club]. Dekka [Dekka's Roots Room]. Pete Watkins [The Bat Cave]. Stewart Richards [Leeds Central]. Andy Yorkie [DOA Sound System]. unfortunately, Andy can't make this one. Liam Fearnley [Kaleidoscope]. unfortunately, Liam can't make this one. Neil Olive [The Bat Cave]. unfortunately, Neil can't make this one. 60's Mod Sounds, 60's Northern Soul & Motown, R&B, Popcorn & Rocksteady Beats all on original vinyl! 6pm - 12am FREE ENTRY Door Tax The Beat Club:"The Beat Room" playing Mod 60's Northern Soul, 60's R&B, Rocksteady & Ska, 60's Popcorn. Original Vinyl OnlyMain Room Resident DJ's: Derek "Dekka" Hamer, Stewart Richards, Peter Watkins and Jay Cee (Jason Chinnian). Unfortunately, resident Andie Yorkie is unable to make this one but will be back at a later date.Situated in the stunning historic city of York The Vaults Beat Club also takes you back in time. To a time of smart 3 button Italian styled suits, mini dresses and skirts, button-down collars and handmade shoes, knitted ties, cufflinks, tie pins and pocket handkerchiefs. A time of 'bob' or 'back-combed' hairstyles. Continental modes of transport in the form of Vespa's or Lambretta's or the British iconic Mini. The music was new and anti-establishment: cool, finger clicking and hip shaking modern jazz, or hard-hitting, earthy R&B, or pounding soul stompers hailing from across the pond or the more relaxed vibe of the islands to the south with those rocksteady ska beats. This is what The Vaults Beat Club is all about. Plus a great compact venue, with a chill out beer garden, [mod band posters in the bar and a scooter hanging on the beer garden wall], that welcomes you with open arms and creates that cool 60's Mod Club vibe making you want to get up and shake ya thang. Good value drink prices for a city centre venue. Also, two NCP car parks are only 5 minutes walk from the venue. There's plenty to see and do: historic attractions, award-winning restaurants, good value accommodation and quality retail shopping therapy. So why not make a proper weekend of it. For Accommodation: https://www.visityork.org/book/ For Food & Drink: https://www.visityork.org/eat-and-drink For Shopping: https://www.visityork.org/shopping Unfortunately no The Bat Cave:The "Bat Cave" featuring the Dynamic Duo: Pete Watkins & Neil Olive plus guest dj's [tba] playing more Beat Club sounds but in a 'Biff, Bang, Pow' atmosphere.
Huge thanks to everyone who made the first Vaults Club a huge success. Even though York Races were on and the weather was rather 'damn hot' you came in your numbers and we all had a cracking day and night. Big up to the deejays and the venue who helped create a proper mod club vibe. Great to see ARSE and plenty of other scooterists out and about. Awesome! So big love, peace and thanks y'all, The Beat Club crew x
