My favorite track from the "Summertime" album. And with Spring right around the corner- it seems like a good idea.

I think this might have been a U.S. bootleg label - all the other releases are from all over the place- Shirley Ellis "Soul Time", Parliaments "I Wanna Testify", Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs- "May I", the C.O.Ds- "Michael". I have the Parliaments on Canadian Transworld and I've seen the Darrell Banks on other Canadian labels so I suspect this is from the U.S.

A copy in excellent condition sold for $129.62 (USD) about a year and a half ago.

I almost forgot about this....

When you think about it, the song went full circle when the Salsoul Orchestra used this for the basis of the later version of "Ooh I Love It (Love Break)". They even threw in a quick Gil Scott Heron sample in the "Love Is The Message" extended remix.

I've never liked the original version of this song but I really like this remix which turns "love Is The Message" on its head.

"Hang On In There" is the flip side of "I Wanna Know..." on U.S. Gamble #2508. I can't find anything about the 45 being on U.S. Philly Int'l.
