Tornado 27 June 18, 2016 Share this review All though the attendance was slightly down on previous months the music played by the DJs was at its best. Sean T couldn't make it because of other commitments so Vernon Smith from Manchester took his place and then when Rob Gray didn't recover from an illness Mick Andrew Reynolds (Moldie) from Dudley came to the rescue. Many thanks both of you. So lets start with Vern who has his own collection of Northern tunes and never fails to deliver, he remembers the Twisted Wheel days with fondness and it shows in his selection. He is not well known on the circuit but other clubs should give a chance, he will not let you down. Moldie is becoming a bit of a regular now with a good mix of Northern, Motown and reggae tunes, keeping the dance floor busy as did all the DJs. Special guest Rob Smith from Nottingham was at his very best with a good mix of Northern floor fillers with a few rarities thrown in. Defo his best set at Ibstock. I believe for the 1st time ever all the DJs had a great round of aplause at the end of their sets from all the soulies on the night. Goes to prove it dosen't have to be packed to have a good night. Looking forward to next month now with special guest Rob Harris. Richard Reed Link to review
