Playing different forms of Soul music, all equally as good as each other. I know we’re very lucky. Two of these venues are full and the pubs get a good return on their investment. The 66 Soul Club held in the Abbey Road Bar is a cracking little place. Three experienced DJs playing mainly 60’s Soul, Motown, R&B and Northern. All three are very sociable and welcoming, with no egos, just a genuine passion for Soul music. The problem is, it’s not very well attended, and it should be! The drinks are charged at hotel prices, and I think it’s putting people off. If the hotel wants to invest in a good Soul club and what could be a long term investment, maybe some kind of compromise with the prices could be reached. It would be a pity if Doncaster lost this latest and very worthy addition to our Sunday afternoon Soul scene. 3 Link to review
