Color One Tear Black welcomes Junior and JM as guest selectors on Sunday, 11th September.
Junior first worked at Footprints Records in Finsbury Park before moving at the legendary BPM Records in Kennington, one of London's best soul, funk and jazz deletion and import specialists of the 90s. A long-time champion of the sort of soul music that we love at Color One Tear Black, he spins regularly at Carib Soul.
JM has a long history with soul music, from broadcasting on Solar Radio in the late 80s, and then Kiss FM, to co-founding Touch magazine. JM still broadcasts, and these days he can be heard on Global Soul, which he developed from Mi-Soul Connoisseurs. A veteran DJ and promoter of soul nights, JM is also a regular selector at Carib Soul.
For a taste of the 45s that JM might drop on the 11th, check out his new mix here, which is 60 minutes of pure COTB-vibe soulful killers.
COTB residents Claire Kalvis, Jim Edwards and David Hill will also be spinning alongside Junior and JM on 11th September.
Set up in February 2016 by Thierry Cochet, AKA Dr Kruger (NTS), Color One Tear Black celebrates group harmony, sweet and deep soul music, played on original issue 45s by resident DJs Dr Kruger, Claire Kalvis, Jim Edwards, David Hill plus guests. The night runs on the second Sunday of each month at The Paradise, 19 Kilburn Lane, London. W10 4AE.
