Looking forward to welcoming DAVE RIMMER one of the busiest DJ's on the rare soul scene to CULCHETH SOUL CULB on Saturday..

With years of experience on the Northern Soul scene, Dave Rimmer is a name synonymous with quality, passion, and dedication to the music. A true connoisseur of the rare and underplayed, Dave has earned a reputation for digging deep into the vaults and unearthing those hidden gems that make a Northern Soul night unforgettable.

Starting out, Dave quickly gained a loyal following with his impeccable taste and knowledge of classic 60s soul. His sets are a journey through the very heart of rare soul music, blending the raw energy of rare Northern cuts with the emotional depth of Motown. Whether he’s spinning at iconic All-Nighter venues or UK and European weekenders, his infectious enthusiasm and unrivalled track selection never fail to move the crowd. Dave’s recent gigs include DJ spots at Whitby Soul Club Weekender, Benn Hall Rugby, Rare Soul Bol, Taste of Honey Salford, Swinton Palais, South West Weekender, Caledonia Soul and the Prague Weekender!

Known for his presence behind the decks and his ability to read the room, Dave's DJing style is all about building the perfect atmosphere, keeping dancers on their toes and ensuring that the floor is always packed. When he's not gracing the decks at soul events like Culcheth Soul Club, Dave is regularly found at soul all-nighters, festivals, and special Northern Soul events, where his sets are always a highlight.

For Dave, Northern Soul is more than just music—it’s a way of life, a culture, and a community that continues to inspire and unite people through its timeless sound. His love for the scene shines through every track he plays, making him one of the most respected and beloved DJs on the circuit.

Catch Dave at CULCHETH SOUL CLUB on SATURDAY 2nd AUGUST and experience why his sets are a treat for any true soul lover! 🌟"

Dave Rimmer's Culcheth Favourites

Betty Turner & The Chevelles - The Winds Kept Laughing - Crescent

Magnetics - I Have A Girl - Ra-Sel

Mr Soul - What Happened To Yesterday - Genuine

Rotations - Put A Dime On D-9 - Frantic

Martels - Where Can My Baby Be - A La Carte

Baz, Don't forget one of Dave's biggest achievements is the SOULFUL KINDA MUSIC magazine that he's been producing since 1989, not forgetting the issue where Culcheth regular Rob Haigh sat on stage at the Lea Hall Manor all-nighter and noted down every single record that was played during the night. I'll never forget seeing Rob trying to peer over Butch's shoulder to see what he was cueing up next. I was half expecting him to try and look under the labels of his cover ups.😂. I think that issue is online somewhere.

There'll be nearly a full house of Magnetics monsters in the building on the night, unless one of the DJ's has "Lady in Green" tucked away somewhere to make it a full house.

I know they're not all the same groups but It's a nice thought.

Here's one of Dave's choices.

Bob, GOOD SHOUT and you are absolutely right and Dave musta been just too modest to mention it, but I'll make sure it's noted in future... a very worthy insight thumbsup

Here's one from Tony's list and what a cracker it is. Recorded originally by Tony Owens in 1968, at a slow pace, thankfully The Philharmonics version is more DJ & dancefloor friendly and here it is.
