Summer coming to an end?, no worries as the heat of the music and feet on the dancefloor carries on, relentless.. plenty of tuneage to work up a sweat with...nothing minutely run-of-the-mill about this function...the selectors of those black vinyl 7's have nothing but quality in mind!, digging deep to provide those overlooked/forgotten and underplayed purchases that are still waiting to have their day...continuity is the essence of success and CVH has it in spades!.

Personally, looking forward to getting behind a top notch sound system and spinning a variety of additions to the collection over the past few months, magpie syndrome..nailing down anything that might be eyed by others, first😉 this venue is proving to be the best mantle holder for upholding the tradition that Lowton Civic started, all those long years ago and the ethic of a conveyor belt of purveyors of real deal soul being the key to that hallowed venues success..it'll be a privilage to add to the roll call and big thanks to Barry Maleedy in that respect, a top bloke, great dj himself and one whom i can call a very good friend, and have known for almost 25 years now.

Thanks Rob, kind words indeed and absolutely SPOT ON regarding the CULCHETH ethos! If it spurs one or more of us on to continue to seek out, appreciate and enjoy the music we all hold close to our hearts, month in month out, it makes it all worthwhile thumbup

Here's a taster, forgotten? Under-played? Nah, it's just great, so let's have a listen, to a message in the music...

Completely off the radar, this one...didn't get the saturation coverage like " that's when the tears start " and a less frantic pace but well orchestrated and great harmonies...and i love tunes with ' jingly-jangly' intros!!😉👍

Hiding in plain sight of its more 'well known' siblings 'Determination' and 'Something Good' is this current CULCHETH spin from me...Enjoy

Here's one you featured yourself Baz, last time out, rnb that's hitting the spot just now, every bit good as Winfield Parker's version!.

A Bob Hinsley biggie from back in the day, made it massive at the SAINTS Club in St Helens, if memory serves g

Enjoying this of late, thunderous mid tempo and sounds like unmistakeable detroit fingerprints all over it, though recorded in Chicago.

How about this for a great lp track from 1968

Here's one Baz As you know I purchased this earlier and it ticks every box, the relentless beat, fabulous backing complete with OOhhs & AAhhs, a, middle section for the acrobatic back drops and spins to be attempted. Just perfect northern soul thumbsup

Yes Baz there's lots of Marmite love em or hate em records that have been played on the scene over the years..

This former Soul Sam spin from Margaret Little fits into that category and caused a couple of weeks worth of debate on

soul source a short while ago.

I know special guest Julian Bentley has one in his box and will no doubt give it a spin at Culcheth

.

Mixing it up a bit with a Wigan/Stafford spin that definitely ranks as 'Rare and Underplayed' and a CULCHETH early doors spin...Covered oiginally as THE DETROIT SOUL BANDITS DON'T BREAK MY HEART, here's Jerry and his Uniques Yes You Will...

This is another Marmite record in our house. Personally I love it and whenever I play it in our house, Moe always shouts "Why is he singing like that" and I reply he sings it proper on t'other side.😀 I know what your thinking how sad is he playing records on his own, but I can't help it.
