I've always been a 45 nazi. My first soul vinyl ever was Wilson Picket's Greatest Hits, but since then I have bought basically no LPs, but now I'm beggining to get thru some of the basics.

I've been listening some GS-H stuff: Pieces Of A Man and Winter In America, and as I'm virtually iletrate in the subject of soul albums (even more, early seventies soul albums) I thought I'd ask you guys for any recomendations.

So, wich are your favourite early seventies soul albums?

Wow! Andy Bey never thought I'd see his name on Soul source, Great albums on Blue Note with the Sisters and Horace Silver....... Blue Note 70s now theres a largley untapped source of modern dance music

BTW not only GSH soundalikes, but your fave early 70s soul albums...

had the good fortune to see the man around 10 years ago, though he didnt turn up the first time! I'd rekonmend Some of Richie Haven's stuff to being on a musical par( folksey soul) also the Last poets and Ellen Mcanwe Not sure about the spelling of this last one, but she was a great folk soul vocalist fgromthe early 70's.

Loving that, just love the way the guy pronounces "coonga's" GSH didn't stop making albums in the 70's Moving Target from the 80's is wel worth a listen

As for an all time favourite 70's album I'd go for Lou Raglands The Conveyor bit short in supply though

John Edwards, Ollie Nightingale "Sweet surrender", and Lou Courtney (Epic LP) are my favorites.
