Erm, you didn't fackin know it on the 2nd October but are on here now giving it billy big bollox 'warning' folk about "inflated" prices

Tell you what: I'll find em, take a chance on em and pay good money - 70 quid as it happens. Next, I'll tell some clueless idiot about the record , be prepared to take a 30-40 quid loss in selling it to them then, and this is the best bit, get them to post snide comments based on their detailed knowledge of a. records they didn't know a week earlier; and b. the market rate for them

Old Johnny Beggs spin from many moons ago....he does love his latin bless him.

I'd say £40 - £50 is about it's money, though I have sold it for £30 before now.

£70 is a tad high Phil....though I have seen some-one list it on here for £90 in the past

hello fellas it has had occasional spins from me over the past few years, i bought it after nancy played it on searlings sho. As johnny will confirm latin is hard to find in the U S now and nancy also said it was a hard record to find, i would have thought £50.00 upwards for it definatley not a £20 to 30 one.

Latin is incredibly hard to find in the U.S., especially the quality stuff.

Beggsy was playing this around 1995, he spun it at the 100 Club around that time and apparently had a queue of people wanting to know what it was (though I reckon they were more likely trying to remove him from the decks )

He also reckons that the Stereo M.C.s had sampled the intro from it around that time.

Is this on a pale blue Cotique label? Sure I've got one or possibly two 45s by artist on pale blue Cotiques, but not sure if this is one of them! No idea where I've put them but if anyone can confirm that I'm right on label then I'll try and find them over the weekend

It is on Cotique, but all the copies I've seen have been white promos mate.

Ray Jay and the Eastsiders did release at least one other track (Searching for love) on Cotique that I know of, but pretty sure I've only seen promos of that one as well?

Cheers mate, def got the 'Searching For Love' (well almost def, might have sold it and forgotten!). Going purely from memory and I put them back into storage couple of months back but sure got a pale blue label 45 by Ray Jay and got a nagging feeling that 'Searching For Love' was on a yellow label....will try and find and post up scans if I'm right...and if I'm wrong I shall instead post a most humble apology

I've only ever seen the multi coloured swirly issues or white label promos from what I can recall?

There's a fairly high profile US dealer that must have LOADS of copies of the "Love Doll" white demo 45.

He's selling them for $20 each and I've been buying it for years off him in batches of 3-5 at a time.

Do a google search for the label and catalogue number and you'll find it in the top-10 of the result list.

So there is...and he usually does stuff cheaper than list price if he has high stock figures and you buy multiple copies

After he suffered a quiet Allentown recently, the phrase 'As empty as Parkers pockets' was coined by his namesake on here

There's one other 45 I know of, "Cuba" on Cotique 163, certainly their rarest, and good although to most ears probably not quite up there with "Love Doll".

Mace, I might well be wrong especially on the yellow one which I'm starting to doubt myself on, lets face it I've spent most of my adult life using Friday/Sat nights as an excuse to kill off the few brain cells I had!

It might take me months (or minutes, cant remember which box I put them in!) to find but I would put money on me having at least one pale blue label Cotique 45. I can see it in my mind...which is the way my memory has always worked, artist/title I'm useless at but labels I do remember. It's like that time at Middleton when we were looking at the Gentleman June 45 which at the time was covered up.....if you'd asked me if I had a record by Gentleman June Gardner(?) then I would have said no, but soon as I saw the record I knew I had one somewhere at home simply because I could see the label design in my head! Thinking about it I might have put them in with all my boots/reissues thinking thats what they were because of the labels not being the usual design....off to look!

I know of at least one pale blue Cotique, it's Bessie Banks "Go Now", with Linda Jones "Fugitive From Luv" on the flip, Cotique 177, have only seen promos of this one.

Yeah, scan does make it seem white but promise you it is pale blue....you can buy it off me on saturday, frame it and hang in your toilet for constant proof

Not admitting being wrong on Love Doll yet, know I've got one and pretty sure it's pale blue as well....just need to find it

£50 sounds like the top end to me - this is the kind of 45 that you can usually get off Craig Moerer for circa $30
