Billy ,if your matrix numbers are same as the one Brad is selling on ebay and your "Superdisc" is spelt same both sides as i have wrote it ,then it is original.

We've been thru this too many times on here already.

The way to tell a boot is the writing, "SUPERDISC" is a boot

"Superdisc" both sides is original !

Jeez there are some unscrupulous people in the record buying game :wicked:

Billy,

I looked at your copy at Nuneaton and it took me less than 10 seconds to know it was a boot. I've had the boot before and spent a lot of time working out how to tell the difference between a real one and a boot. Keith, or anyone else who tells you your copy is original are mistaken. It's not the matrix number that tells them apart but the way it's written in the dead wax that makes it easy to spot the boot.

Having said all that, the boot still has value IMO about £40-£50 if it's sold fairly. Seen boots described as boots sell on eBay for up to £100 which I think is crazy!! Also seen boots described as original or as 'not sure' sell for a lot more but thats pure greed from sellers and foolishness from buyers who should ask the questions before bidding.

Hope that helps,

Adam Topping.

Adam ..i've spotted the ebay boots too and asked for the details ,and duly told them it's a boot !

The feeble replies come but they never change the listing details ...unscrupulous ,but as you say ...if your gonna pay big money for a record

Do the research or be prepared to get your fingers burned:yes:

Hi Billy it was confirmed at Nuneaton that yours is a second issue mate

Hi ted, yeah you did, your knowledgement of records over last 30+ years is next to none, the record went straight back into the box, then i went on ebay yesterday, seen this record ,not known at the time it was a 2nd issue,it had 1 bid at 350 dollars,i checked it with mine, and that had the same matrix number,i notice on ebay it never said if it was 1st .2nd or 3rd,i just persumed at that price, it was a big O,also i was well out of order to mention Keiths name,at the time at Stoke he was very busy with his own records and he quickly looked at mine,if he had a few minutes to spare he would have said it was a 2nd edition,i thought i'd just clear the air on that one, keep on keeping on.

Billy

Ps.I wonder if the bidder think its the original.
