Motown's 1St Employee - Al Abrams Selling Photo Collection

LESS THAN 5 DAYS LEFT TO PLACE YOUR BID ON-OF-A-KIND MOTOWN PHOTOS FROM THE PRIVATE, ORIGINAL ARCHIVE COLLECTION OF MR. AL ABRAMS (MOTOWN'S FIRST EMPLOYEE), later Motown Director of Public Relations during the label's glory years.

THERE ARE 128 - 8 X 10 PICTURES TAKEN OF MOTOWN'S GREATEST (AND LESSER KNOWN) ARTISTS FROM THE COMPANY'S INCEPTION TO 1967. Some of the photos go back to 1959 and precede the establishment of the Motown label. PICTURES NEVER BEFORE SEEN. The grouping also includes rare photographs of the famous 1964 "March on Hitsville" by fans of Tommy Good, a Northern Soul favorite, demanding that Motown and Berry Gordy, Jr. release a record by the popular white singer.

All of the photos are stamped on the verso for authenticity as having originated in Al Abrams' photo archive. There are no photographs later than 1968.

Also Included in the archive are rare candid and behind-the-scenes photographs from the historic Tamla-Motown Tour of the UK and Europe in 1964. Every major Motown artist is represented in this authentic assemblage including Eddie Holland, Barrett Strong, Marv Johnson, Brenda Holloway, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and scarce photographs of Booker Bradshaw (60's Motown Executive)as well as Florence Ballard from her career as an ABC Records solo recording artist. Avid Motown collectors will easily spot legends such as James Jamerson of the Funk Brothers and William "Mickey" Stevenson in several of the images
