I was listening to the deluxe edition of the Standing in The Shadows Of Motown soundtrack and the last track in the 2nd CD is this amazing slice of soul, bass and vocal tracks only.

the best bass player in the whole history and the vest Motown vocal group (IMO) as they sounded in the studio. James Jamerson, Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin stripped down to their very core.

This is pure soul.

Refo clip to follow.

Lovely vocals from Eddie, David and the guys!

But I have to say that I do miss hearing the strings and things in the background - for me it's a bit like the icing on the cake, if you know what I mean.

More than mega - humungous......

My favourite Soul vocal group of all time just about a capella but with JJ strumming his bass - truly wonderful.

Fantastic if that doesnt make your spine tingle you must be dead

Greatest group ever and this line up is THE Temptations. Just not the same when Ruffin, Kendricks and Williams no longer part of the group.
